    Re: Winfield and Smoot

I don't think Detroit will be a pushover this year, nor will they be a powerhouse. The article posted above made a good point about their recievers...

...And Williams is joining a team that took a receiver in the top 10 in the two previous drafts, too -- Charles Rogers in 2003 and Roy Williams last year.

Rogers is hungry to prove himself because injuries have kept him off the field for most of his first two seasons. Roy Williams is hungry because he wants to prove his success last season wasn't because Rogers was hurt -- and that he could have done even better had he not been hobbled at times himself. Mike Williams is hungry having sat out a year, wanting to live up to being a No. 10 pick.

The motivation for their receiving crew is there.

Vikes will still own them this year.

It just doesn't matter who the kitties have for receivers, Joey (the limpwrist) Harrington is as fickle as a place kicker. With PWill, KWill, Udeze, and Eraser coming to a backfield near you...
bah, I kinda feel sorry for our opponents QB's.
It is funny as HE!_!_ listening to a lions fan talking smack.

    Vikes 11-5
    Kitties 8-8
    da Bears 8-8
    has been Pacqueers 7-9

I guess that they've got to talk smack while they can. Once the season starts, that'll end in a hurry. It's hard to mouth off when you're 1-4.

Winfield faced some pretty decent receivers last year. You know, Marvin Harrison, TO...yeah he shut them down...
