Winfield likes Vikings' depth at DB

Winfield likes Vikings' depth at DB

MANKATO — When Antoine Winfield got to Minnesota in 2004, he was the starter on one side, and Brian Williams started on the other.

“We were thin,” Winfield said. “If one of us got hurt, there wasn’t much else.”

"If at first you don't succeed, parachuting is not for you"

    Cheers for the read Singer.

We got a few guys in their 2nd year now as well as Lito and Cook in their first (in the system & in the NFL respectively) hopefully the secondary will be stronger this year, Ced being injured is a blow but hopefully Lito or Asher Allen can fill in admirably till he is fit.

isn't Antoin talking about the state of the Viking corners six years ago?
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

    Our CBs are nice.
    Winfield, Griffin.
    Allen, Lito, Cook.
    Sapp, Paymah

I really think Allen and Cook can play and play very well. Cook has made a splash in camp and Allen can fly on that field. We are solid at CB
    We're bringing purple back.

I feel REALLY good about our depth and youth in the defensive backfield.
I love our corners. I think Cook is going to be very good and I like Winny, Sheppard, Cook, Sapp and Allen to start the season. When Griffin gets back ... it will be a dogfight for these five guys as all five are talented.
As for the safeties, I think a lot around here are quick to judge. I personally think Madieu is really solid and Tyrell should really blossom this season. I also like Frampton and Abdullah as they are high-motor guys that love to get in on the action when they get their chance.
I think our defense could be very good this season.
