Antoine Winfield's concern about Minnesota's ability to contend for the playoffs appeared valid, even past the midpoint of this season......

Re: Winfield feels better about Vikings
Very nice read my friend.
I like it when Vets act like Vets.
Winfield will get healthy again, he will be back next year and our young group of CB will be better for the reps they got while he was down this year.
Win win for all.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Winfield feels better about Vikings
Great article singer, I hope we get to the playoffs this year, but if we don't I have a real good feeling about this team. Next year we will get a faster start, like Antoine said, and we should compete head to head with the Pack. Having a healthy Winfield back will keep us strong against the run, and comments like when Coach Childress says "I think he has played very well, "He still has an unbelievable, uncanny ability for his size to be able to wreak havoc on the run game off the edges, and he is fearless."
That's the kind of leadership on the field a nine year vet provides.

I am glad he is getting happier. Now lets get another vet to play opposite him.

Griffin, McCauley, Gordon.
Lets not forget that they are in a system that lets recievers get yards.
Thier job is to minimize the amount of yards they get by keeping the play in front of them and making a good tackle.
To date all three (even though they got burned a few times this year) have shown they can do that on a pretty consistent basis.
Lets not forget how stingy this D is/was when it came to giving up scores.
I bet one or all 3 of these guys, when they have the time under fire Winfield has, will be as good as he is.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

You think these guys are going to be OK if Winfield is injured next year too? I do not think so but I do want to see a stud vet DE before a CB."marstc09" wrote:

I think that McCauley had a great fast start and so did Griffin, but Cedric took a step back this year and McCauley started to get picked on more and more as the season progressed."marstc09" wrote:

They are all solid corners, but there is lots of room for improvement. I think that will come with time.

You the man marrdro.
I think our CB's have done admirably all year, even when Toine is out.
