Favre showed his risky side with rainbows downfield last year with the New York Jets.Funny how the deep ball and accuracey throwing it has been glossed over because of his velocity.......He was off-target for most of last Sunday's game against San Francisco, but the winning drive in the final minute was a vintage performance.
Besides, we all know it isn't how hard you throw it."It's fine," wide receiver Bernard Berrian said. "T-Jack throws harder anyway."
Its the accuracy or TJ would still be out there.....

He will be fine.
Hes not being asked to throw the ball alot and thus far his throws havent been that deep with exception for a couple last week.
This team is built around the run and looking for Favre to primarily "manage the game".
He seems to be willing to do that and I look forward to having him start all 19 games this season.

Violence, sex, and drugs.
The only way you are going to make this game more appealing to the public than it was before is if there are on field orgies at halftime and the domes become massive opium dens."

Its what Favre has between his ears hes smarter than anyone that we have on the team(QBs that is) plus hes a better player, he actually plays the game as it should be played....and his teammates see that and will respond, making them a better team , hopefully enough to go deep into the playoffs...what worries me is Childress record against the packers, maybe BF can overcome BC

I will ask the same question about every QB.
The answer is the same,
nobody knows!!!

If you are being drafted as a QB in the NFL it isn't even an issue of whether or not you can throw the ball 'hard' or 'accurately' or pecisely.Anyone can throw hard, it's about throwing hard with accuracy.
It is more of a matter of whether or not you can develop into someone that can read defenses and manage games when the heat is on.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

There was a nice little remark in here about why some of the receivers might be having a harder time catching his passes:
"As soon as you turn around his ball is right there," wide receiver Darius Reynaud said. "You've got to hurry up and get your hands up. I caught some in practice last week: As soon as I turned around the ball is right in my face. So I had to put my hands up. I almost missed it, but I caught it."
Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe said he has had to concentrate harder to catch Favre's passes.
"It's a really tight spiral," Shiancoe said. "The spin is the real difference in what I've seen from other quarterbacks. Other quarterbacks might throw just as hard, but the spin is a little different so you've got to really look it in to your hands."

Re: Will Vikings QB Brett Favre fade again late in the season?
I like how you said he was off target.
We had 6 dropped balls.
You know I never played big time football, but something my dad taught me and I'll teach any boys I have if they play...."If the ball hits you in the hands then there is no reason not to catch it".
Berrian and Shiancoe were dropping too many passes last week.
And one dropped pass led to the interception.
The elite passers in this league fit that ball into a tiny window sometimes with a super tight spiral.
If they want to play WR at this level and be productive then they need to start catching catch-able balls....thats all there is to it.

Jet's weren't a WCO team, they have a more vertical system.Favre showed his risky side with rainbows downfield last year with the New York Jets.
Brett is playing a system that matches his skills and the players around him.

Sure Berrian tipped it up but Favre was forcing that one into tight coverage.

He was only off target about 4 or 5 throws last week.
He must not have seen the drops in the game and figured since he was "only" 26 for 41 that he was "off target".
Those 6 drops would have made him 32 for 41 with even more yardage.
I am not making excuses for him but I am poiinting out the fact he wasn't as off target as this guy is trying to say.
