Will The 98 Vikes All Time Points Record Be Broken This Season?

Although 1998 didn't end up as we all hoped, the 15-1 Vikings still have the record for most points scored in a regular season with 556. Although this season is still early already the record looks in danger, mainly from New England who are lighting it up on offense and breaking records almost weekly, Dallas and Indy are also in with a shout after impressive starts.

The 98 Vikings: 34.74 points average per game

    2007 Patriots: 38.3 average through 6 games
    2007 Cowboys: 33.8 average through 6 games
    2007 Colts: 32.8 average through 5 games

I don't see how the Pats don't score less than 28 a game.
And that's when they have a bad one.

It depends on how many injuries they get. If Brady, moss,Welker or Stallworth go down, they will be less effective and will see a decline in scoring. If they stay healthy they will have a good shot at it.

I don't think so, but if someone does i'm thinking it will be the colts. The patriots defense is too good, they will have a 20 point half time lead in a couple of games and have no need to run up the score, the colts on the other hand may need to score 50 to get the win a few times.

The Patriots do have one of the main components of the 98 Vikings team.
How ironic is that if they do break it.

I'm with JMC. The only reason the 98' Vikings had to score so much was because we NEED IT. Not that our defense was horrible, but they are by no league in comparison to the Pats defense. Also one more thing - 98' Vikings scored on explosive plays. Long bombs and catches. The Pats dink and dunk (for the major anyways) to score. That style of play makes it harder to score and especially to maintain throughout the season.
Because I'm a Vikings fan, they are that much sexier.

The 1998 Minnesota Vikings 6th in the league in scoring defense at 18.5 PPG.
Given their average of offensive average of 34.8 ppg, that's a scoring margin of 16.3 PPG, which led the league.
