Re: Wilf patient, hopeful as Vikings improve

Red was patient and hopeful with a Superbowl quality offense and no defense and it got him nothing.
    Learn, Wilf, Learn.
Now we have the Superbowl quality DEFENSE and no offense.
    Change before its too late!
    Time for impatience!

Progress would certainly be nice. It looks as if nothing has changed from last year.

    Just need a quality Quarterback.
Our receivers are not that bad and show potential.
The running game is solid as any team in the league.
Nothing needs to be said about the defense.
However, we don't have a single QB on the roster that has shown any ability to lead this team.
At worst we should have been up 17 to 3 going into halftime.

We need a front office that knows how to put together a whole team and who knows how to develop a system around the players they have on the field at the time. Over the years we have had the best defense, the best offense, the best defense, the best offense and then the best defense again but we have never had a complete team. And even during times when we came close to having the best team we somehow got outcoached or outplayed when it mattered most.We didn't lose 4 super bowls and several NFC title games for no reason.

If Wilf wants to win he will bring in a proven, top notch GM that knows how to assemble the whole deal and he will step back and write the checks needed to get the job done.

Your post brings up an interesting question. Do the Vikes even have a general manager? I don't think so except in name only. The "general manager" is by committee the last I heard. Maybe you're on to something.

Either that or I am on something.

Being that Wilf is new to the NFL from an ownership standpoint, I cannot believe with his business background that he would fail to hire a top notch GM to run the team. Yes, Jerry Jones did it and is successful, but then again not everybody can do that sort of thing.

Without a top notch, stable front office you cannot build a successful team over the long run, and sometimes even in the short run.

Yeah, but it's not much fun to watch other teams
