Vikings fans, you have endured years of teasing by teams as immortal as the purple people eaters and the 1998 Vikes, and you've also endured shameless Packers fans who have busted your chops at every opportunity to the point where you could justify beating some sense into em', and all this with NO SUPER BOWL RING :(. However, being a Vikings fan is now worth enduring because you've won Quite a Prize (not really), show em' what they've won Chuck!!!!

I don't think that he will do anything special for us...most likely he is in it just for the potential to make money off of moving the team or developing the real estate around a new stadium!

Call me pessimistic, but that's how I feel.

WASHINGTON -- NFL owners on Wednesday unanimously approved the $600 million sale of the Minnesota Vikings to a group led by New Jersey shopping mall magnate Zygmunt Wilf.

Wilf was given the go-ahead to purchase the team from Red McCombs, with the closing date for the sale expected in June.

Wilf immediately pledged to work to build a new stadium, but he vowed that the team will stay in Minnesota.

"We will be in the Minneapolis area forever," Wilf said.

Wilf recently assumed the role of general partner of the ownership group after concerns were raised over whether Arizona businessman Reggie Fowler had the finances to be the lead owner. Fowler, who would have been the NFL's first black majority owner, remains an active part of the group.
