Most prognosticators project the Vikings to finish with a 6-10 record for a second consecutive season this year. Owner Zygi Wilf won't forecast a record but has loftier expectations...

So...does that mean Childress' job is on the line if we don't get better than 6-10?

I would guess so, I think Wilf could be the type of owner to fire a coach in the middle of the year.

Wilf should always expect better and do whatever is necessary to see that it happens.Every NFL coach is on the hot seat every season to some degree.

Also in the article was a holy crap moment for me.

    Quote
"Ex-Vikings general manager Mike Lynn, as part of a personal deal he made with the team years ago, is expected to receive nearly $500,000 as his cut of Metrodome private suite sales this season."

They can tell Mike we're giving him Herschel Walker in lieu of the half mil.

    That's a fair trade............eh Mike!

IF we still had Culpepper and Moss, I could see us getting a ring. Can you imagine: our offensive line, protecting Culpepper, with Moss running deep, and Culpepper can hand off to Adrian Peterson if the guys are covered downfield ?

If we still had C-pepper and Moss, this team would be the NFC champion. Maybe win it all...

I wonder what he knows that we don't...

maybe he's bringing in Phil Simms or Jeff Hostetler to take over for TJack!

Re: Wilf has eye on title

The current Vikings management and coaching staff seem to be living in the year 1975:

    - You have several years to "rebuild" (there is no pressure to "win now" in the NFL).
    - You can win in the modern NFL by "dominating the line" and running the ball. You don't need an accurate passer, and you don't need a proven QB.

We will soon see if these assumptions are correct.

This used to be a team that easily won 10 games a year. Now, we would be extremely lucky to win 9. The ownership/management/coaches tell us we "don't understand", "will have to wait", "we are rebuidling', bla, bla, bla.

Keep those violins coming, man, we will need them this year...
