The Wilf Era

He says he wants long term, but I think its just too early to trust him. I hope for the best though. As long as they don't move I'm happy. I can bear no new stadium if we just win the Superbowl.

Let's hope he is the owner long term as he says he wants to be like the Rooney family in Pitt and own the team for generations. How he handles the team has yet to be seen though.

a long time i think, do you have any idea how much land there is to develop around the twin cities? it's not like la theres not city after city after city. theres a lot of land between blaine and north branch all that will be developed in the future and wilf wants a piece of the pie so he can move up to the east side.

The Rooney's are really dedicated to the Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh.

It would be nice if the Wilfster modeled his family after them.

The main question I have is how dedicated Wilf will be to Minnesota. The owner of the Texans, Bob Mcnair, felt like he owed the city of Houston for his success and therefore the Texans are his form f repayment to the city. That is true dedication. Certainly, Wilf isn't in that kind of situation. He is a bit more business oriented than that. I think it really depends on how accepting minnesotans are of him. Of course vikings fans should like him but there are also non-viking fans and non-football fans to think about.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic but I just have a feeling WIlf saw a business oppurtunity and took it. His hiring doesn't seem much different than McCombs to me yet.

I like what I read in Wilfs statements so far...

I believe, if he can get a stadium deal done, we will be set with our new owner and his family for many years to come......

Also, we should win our share of championships if this happens..

I always try to look at things for there best, watching Red leave was one of them for sure...

I believe he or his relatives will own them for a LONG, LONG time. Whether or not they will be in Minnesota is another whole question.

I have a good feeling too...and if anyone can get a stadium deal done, it should be a guy who's made his bones in real estate!!!
