Thread: The Wilf Compound

So today I had to go to the DMV

Anyway, I'm driving through Springfield, NJ, I live in Westfield. I'm going down a main road that goes right along Baltusrol Golf Course, the site of the 2005 PGA Championship. So I'm driving and on my way there a street sign catches my eye "Ashwood Road", and I remembered hearing that name before, so I continued on my way to the DMV, got there and of course had a lot of time to think.... and it hit me.

I knew the name Ashwood Road from Zygi Wilf.... I heard he lived in Springfield and looked him up one time, and he lived on there.

So on my way home from the DMV I drove down there, it looked like a normal side street until I got to this cul-de-sac at the end of it, a cul-de-sac with one "house" on it. It's basically inside of the golf course. This place is a compound, hence the title, it's surrounded by huge bushes, stone and cast-iron gates so you can't really see inside of it. I did notice the main gate though, it;s only about 15 feet from the front door, and doesn't seem lke it locks, and if it does, it's only about 6 feet high so it's an easy climb.


If anything ridiculous ever happens with the team, such as a move, or another horrendous trade, or if we ever with super bowl, I plan on paying Mr. Wilf a visit. Who knows what will happen, he seems like a pretty good guy, maybe I'll get to talk to him. I'm gonna prepare some questions.


The house was beautiful though, it was really an impressive place, there were laborer looking people going in and out of it, they must be redecorating, they weren't scrubby looking laborers, not like construction guys, they looked classier(no offense to anyone in construction, I just didnt know how to phrase that).

It only takes 10 minutes to get there, I could go at any time really.

Forget your plan, if anything ridiculous happens I'd much rather TP the house...not just ask him some questions...

If anything ridiculous happens, play the old burning paper bag trick, film it and put it up on youtube.

Go up to his door and ring it. Ask him what took so long to get tailgating. Is he a football fan or what?

Wow that is cool, I wish I would have known that when I played Baltusrol a few years back.
I am hoping to get back up there one of these years and play it again, I will have to look closely.
I wonder if he is a member, I would imagine so.
Maybe I can get a chance to play with him.

The one at the 11 O'Clock position on the end of the cul-de-sac looks to be the biggest house on that street that you mentioned.
If you go to Google or Mapquest you get a much better view of it, but I cant get the link to take you directly to the zoomed in version like I can with Terraserver.
