I don't know. I only search about topics I care about. I don't care about Todd pinkston lol, so if ever a time comes when I need to know about him I just ask and figure someone can tell me."Del" wrote:
Where have you been?I Pinkston playing this week?
Pinkston was cut before the Washington game.
Maurice Mann, a pickup from the Seattle practice squad, is the Vikings #5 WR right now.
Like you just did. Thank you!
Priceless.
I mean I can not believe any actually fell for that one.

Re: Wide Recievers???
We need to get another WR in here and get rid of Mann.
I would love to take a look at Charles Rogers and give him a chance in Purple.
He played in Detroit where it seems all of their first round picks from the last couple years can't cut it.
Do their picks suck that bad or is it the organization.

what good would charles roger do us? we'll have marcus back, then we still have williamson and taylor as the starting two, and mcmullen mainly for 3rd downs etc.
we dont need another player, we have mann to take over returns hopefully, if we make a run at another receiver it will be during the 2006/07 offseason, get used to it everybody

Re: Wide Recievers???
we should trade for moss i dont know about you guys but i miss that threat and it really opened the running game. i wish they would but childress doesnt seem like the type to deal with any kaka del toro... but we should put omar jacobs on ps and activate jason carter.. i mean tarvaris is out for a good 3-4 weeks y not put jacobs on the roster to see what he can do and potentially be a back up to jackson, because honestly brooks bolinger doesnt quite cut it for me
Trade for Moss?
Who are going to trade...Hutch....Birk?

Thanks josdin00

Re: Wide Recievers???
We're married to the recievers we have now for this season.
We can hope for a game breaker free agent to be available this offseason or somehow get in position to draft Calvin Johnson.
For now, we have to just deal with what we have.
Troy has to hold onto the ball, Taylor is what he is, and Robinson hopefully can emerge.
If we can run the ball a little better and use Wiggins to his potential, hopefully the recievers will become more serviceable.

Re: Wide Recievers???
ok, maybe we dont have the numbers you want, but look at these numbers. If we can run the ball a little better and use Wiggins to his potential, hopefully the recievers will become more serviceable.
top 10 rushing attempts
--------------------------
1 - Chester Taylor MIN: 75 att
2 - Rudi Johnson CIN: 73 att
3 - Willis McGahee BUF: 71 att
T3 - Willie Parker PIT: 71 att
5 - Steven Jackson STL: 68
T5 - Edgerrin James ARI: 68
7 - Shaun Alexander SEA: 65
8 - Fred Taylor JAC: 64
9 - Warrick Dunn ATL: 63
10 - Frank Gore SF: 61
of those people, only 4 have more yards (5 if you include Tatum Bell DEN: 58 carries), and those with more yards, only Rudi Johnson has scored a TD
chester has been the work horse for this team, when marcus robinson and troy are both 100% (remember, vs. carolina troy was wearing a harness when he caught that huge 3rd down play, and was listed as probable before the bears game), not only will that open up more room for CT, it will open up more room for travis taylor and mcmullen.
be patient folks, its week 3.

Re: Wide Recievers???
I love Taylor.
I didn't know what to think about him until last Sunday seeing him in person.
He runs hard.
I'm not down on the running game but I just brought it up as one of the many things that can help get the receviers get going.

Also remember that Childress sad that it isn't necessarily quality as much as it is quantity. I love that quote, because it shows that we're committed to running the ball. I really hope Chester holds up over the course of the entire season. He carried the ball over 250 times twice in college, so I think he'll be able to hold up. I would like to see MeMo or Ciatrick getting a few more carries though just to take some of the load off.ok, maybe we dont have the numbers you want, but look at these numbers. If we can run the ball a little better and use Wiggins to his potential, hopefully the recievers will become more serviceable.
