Re: Wide receiver Williamson is on own vision quest

It's become a daily routine, his way of dealing with the team-high 11 dropped passes he had in 14 games last season.

"I've caught about 13,000 balls in the three months since I've been back from Nike," said Williamson, referring to his two-day evaluation by Nike vision consultant Alan Reichow at Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.
"Looking straight ahead, my eyes are 20-20," Williamson said. "But, as Uncle Al says, the eye is really more complicated than you think. So they tested me on different gazes as I'm looking at a ball to catch it. That's when they determined that my right eye was weaker."
I guess it all gives us a chance to believe, and a hope that he can change his ways in the new season.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

He should get his hands tested at Reebok, or start investing his signing bonus.

at least he is trying to fix his problems.

i do think that he is done in minnesota if he has many drops this year. They need to stay away from deep balls to Troy for a while and just keep hitting him with short passes so he can get his confidence up.

    Everyone has one dominant eye.
    What a lame excuse.

In my case, it happens to be my brown eye.

    Hmm.
y left eye is quite a bit more dominant than my right, to the point that I need glasses.
Without glasses, my vision is still 20/20, but my left eye does all the work.
With glasses it is approximately equal between the two.

However, this is something that every eye doctor knows to look for, so I have a hard time believing that this is some amazing discovery at Nike Headquarters.

    I am pulling for TWill.
I really want to see him succeed.
But I am getting more an more leary about the eye excuse as I hear more about it.

I guess I could be totally wrong here, but none of his eye "problems" seem to be very rare or severe, and just based on the huge percentage of people out there with less-than-perfect-in-every-way eyesight, I highly doubt that he's the only WR in the NFL who has these issues. However, I've not heard of many other 1st and 2nd-string WR's out there going to such lengths to explain this many drops due to their eyes...
