I'm a Vikes fan out of complete randomness ...
I was born in St. Louis and was a Cardinals fan until 1987 ... then I kind of had no team for a couple of years. We had one of those electronic football games that vibrated all over the place and it was Vikings vs. Bears. I HATED the Bears because everyone pretended to like them at the time ... so whenever my brothers and I played that stupid game I was the Vikes ... and it stuck. 25 jerseys ... numerous expensive trips ... tons of heartbreak and happiness later ... I bleed Purple & Gold

A very simple reason...
I lived in Minnesota and that was OUR team. Even though I moved to Utah, Colorado and now Kentucky, my devotion to the Vikings has never wavered.

Same for me.
I was born in the Cities and lived in Minnesota until I joined the military.
I was fortunate to get to go to some of the games as a kid.
I kept my Vikings passion going when I was in Alaska and Korea (and the desert).
When I finally came back to the continental United States in 1997, I was stationed in Grand Forks ND, and my best friend was also a huge Vikings fan, so that just helped fuel the fire.

Raised in Iowa and the Vikings were the team on our CBS station from Des Moines (KCCI) while growing up.

The Vikings were the team that was on tv ever Sunday when I was a little boy, plus I can tolerate pain.
