Why the Oakland Trade Makes Sense

    That's a good point
Hopefully we can land a solid vetran ILB through FA. I have a suspicion Claiborne may be gone.

...We do need a DE. Erasmus James is available. I would hate to see a D-Line pick at 18th because I dont think it would be worth it.
Erasmus had a phenominal year for the Badgers this psat season...until he virtually disappeared the last two games. He also has a bit of an injury history. He'd be like Udeze - lots of potential, let's see what the Docs think.

Aside from that, I'd almost think we'd be looking at Linebackers before D-Line. We need help there in a BIG way (Unless we can grab a FA or two).

But, I'm sure we'll follow the typical "Best Player Available" policy.

Vikings get Buchanon and 7th pick overall. If you draft Mike Williams with this pick are you losing THAT much talent at WR?

Williams is like 6'5", less of a headache and other USC players said most college kids couldn't even try to cover him.

Now you have one of the best CB tandems in the league. Then trade your #1 and Bennett to move up for a LB or FS. Your defense is now 10 times better and you still have a tall, fast, young WR. Make sense?

Mike Williams after sitting out a year might fall to the 19th pick, and if we were to get either Raiders 7th pick or even the Skin's pick at 9. Maybe we could pickup very good safety or linebacker in the draft!

Udeze looked like a top 5 lock right after the college season ended, and we scoped him up late in the first round.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

You people don't seem to understand Phillip Buchanon

    He makes BIG PLAYS

    OR

He DOESNT MAKE A PLAY AT ALL.

He does not get his hands on the ball like an Al Harris or a Champ Bailey - it just doesn't happen. He doesn't tackle well, and he's a headcase.

    No. Just no.

I dont think Randy would want to leave a good QB like Pep. If he went to Oakland he would choke Kerry Collins after a few weeks.
