Why I trust our FO on the Williamson pick

    WR's selected before Nate Burleson:

    Charles Rogers-2nd
    Andre Johnson-3rd
    Bryant Johnson-17th
    Taylor Jacobs-44th
    Bethel Johnson-45th
    Anquan Boldin-54th
    Tyrone Calico-60th
    Kelley Washington-65th
    Nate The Great-71st

To me it looks like we made one he!! of a pick by getting Burleson at 71. How many of those WR's would you take over Burleson? I would take Andre Johnson, maybe a healthy boldin or rogers, but nobody else.

This is the reason I trust the Williamson pick over Mike Williams, even though I know Mike Williams is a he!! of a WR. We seem to know what we are doing when drafting WR's.

We also picked Demetrius Underwood over Patrick Kerney, although the positions are different.

The real problem with Underwood was his condition (which wasn't disclosed by his agent before the draft...borderline unethical)...and the thing is that if his condition would have been properly treated, he probably would have been a beast!

We took Moss with that same front office and that worked out pretty well from a football standpoint. I trust the FO with all of their picks until I'm proved wrong. I don't gauge them by how they picked 5 or 6 years ago.

I look back to the 2003 draft- K Will, EJ, Ontarrio, Nate, Mike Nattiel, and Keenan Howry. Aside from the fumbling punter, I think we recieved great value from all of these people considering where they were picked. I can't question any picks that the Vikings make.

I don't see a smiley face, but you've got to be joking!! EJ lost his starting job at MLB, Ontario is suspended for the remainder of his contract, Mike Nattiel got into a bar brawl and was later cut, and Howry....well Howry just flat out stinks.

Over the last 10 years, I don't think that the front office has done that well at drafting other than the 1st round, but that's the easy round.

I'm just speaking from a talent stand point. EJ was the best linebacker in college football before injuries, so who is to say he won't improve from where he is. They all received roster spots and contributed. Williams is a beast, Nate is our #1 receiver, Smith was supposed to start, EJ will start sometime, and Nattiel and Howry were sixth and seventh rounders who managed to stay with the team for a while and play. That is a good draft in my opinion.

Re: Why I trust our FO on the Williamson pick

We've had decent drafting, better than most, but not all. Roanall Smith was a waste, Offord was a reach, we have a bunch of nd and 3rd rounders who haven't shown anything yet.

Still I would trade Nate for Andre Johnson, Detroit was retarded for taking Rogers over him.
