Why did birk go in at the end of the game
the announcers said birk went in for the vikes at the end of the game, anyone know why?
"the only diffrence between suicide and martyrdom is the press coverage"

I must admit I missed that but perhaps because Withrow was not blocking anyone!

Punt returner Keenan Howry suffered a sublexed right shoulder, which could sideline him for a month or more. The injury will be re-evaluated Monday.
Center Cory Withrow suffered a right knee sprain in overtime and was replaced by Matt Birk, who spent most of the game on the bench to rest his high ankle sprain. Withrow will be re-evaluated Monday, although Birk is expected to start Sunday against New Orleans.
Linebacker Dontarrious Thomas strained his right groin. He split time the rest of the game with Max Yates.
Nickelback Terrance Shaw sprained a toe on his right foot. He was replaced by Ralph Brown, who played poorly.

Yeah, today on Monday Quarterback Tice talked about how Withrow got hurt towards the end of the game.

Looks like the Vikes are going to pick up Bill Conaty (I think I butchered his name). The backup center we had in preseason when Birk was hurt.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
