    I'm thinking the same thing.
    Unless Childress loses the team.
As long as we're competitive in games I bet Zygi lets Childress continue to implement his system.

Yeah, he probably will be. But if he keeps going on the same downward spiral he's been doing year after year (starting last year 4-2 but finishing 6-10, then starting this year 2-5), I think he'll be fired when we start next year 0-4.

I work at the dome. I see the hate mail that doesn't get to Zygi (no mail from fans must reach King Zygmund) and it's all people who want to dump Childress and are announcing dropping their season tickets. They know they've been bailed out of 2 blackouts. Charter ticket season holders are bailing. The Vikings can't be stupid enough to keep Childress, but then again they drafted Troy Williamson and Tarvaris Jackson to replace Moss and Culpepper.

I am pretty sure Childress will be gone this offseason.

    Why?

The team is losing and losing ticket sales.

I guarantee if we were losing but were still selling out every game, Childress would be back.

An owner won't fire a coach based on angry people on message boards, talk radio, or newspapers. But an owner (IMO) will give in to a lack of ticket sales and unrest within season ticket holders.

Not buying a ticket is a way of protesting. I don't plan on making Zygi think I am happy with the current situation, therefore I will not be buying anymore tickets this season.

I'm sure a lot of people think that way.
Personally, some of my best moves in seats with my season tickets have come after "bad years" for the Vikes.
Of course I don't want them to play badly, but at least there's a minor benefit when they do.

Well, I'm still hoping Chilly can turn this thing around...you've heard it from me before.
But, I wouldn't argue with giving Cowher a chance if he wanted it, but I don't see him unretiring that soon.
Marty ball sounds good to me, we've got the backs for it.
Maybe some help in the form of an offensive coordinator, or special assistant-offense, to provide some new ideas and some spark...?

Despite how the Foreskins got their butts handed to them today, Greg Williams is the only coach on your list I would like to see come in for an interview.
My point being, I want to see this team hire a defensive coordinator as their next coach, or at the least a coach with strong defensive convictions.

Cowher might be another choice I'd settle for, but c'mon!
Let's be real, does anyone honestly belive he would want to go to Minnesota to rebuild?

Lastly, a name I would add to your list and someone surprisingly overlooked, again, and again, and again, is Monte Kiffin!
Sure he's older than dirt, but he shoulda been a head coach by now!

Would it be possible to exhume an HC?
Maybe hook up some kind of computer chip and have them on the sidelines.
I'm putting my vote in for Knute Rockne if that is possible.
