That's what I was thinking. I would love to have him here and i'm sure he'd sign on as a DC..
Good point! Didn't even think of that. Atlanta has had some decent defenses when they've stayed healthy.

Mora was DC for the 49ers before he was hired as Falcons' HC.

The one thing that works in our favor is the fact that our defense was as good as it was last year. We have pretty good personnel, so there should be a lot of people after the job, or at least I'd think.

If memory serves me correct, Childress picked Tomlin because of the Tampa 2 defense. I think he said that he had a difficult time preparing for that type of defense when he was the OC for the eagles. My guess is that he picks a DC who will employ the same defense.

How about the guy that was the DC in green bay a few years back but McCarthy didn't want to retain him... where is he now?
    Jim Bates

In early January of 2007, Jim Bates was signed on by the Denver Broncos to replace Larry Coyer as the defensive coordinator. However, Defensive Backs coach Bob Slowik was then promoted to the defensive coordinator position, and Bates was named "Assistant Head Coach of Defense."

ESPN and ESPNews have reported that the tomlin story is UNTRUE. We may just keep our DC next season. Let's keep up the hope.

A report on Sports Illustrated's Web site, SI.com, on Saturday indicated that Tomlin had been chosen as the successor to Cowher, but the Vikings' defensive coordinator told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that no decision had been made.

The way our offense ran this year, it looks like he had a hard time preparing for any defense >

If the rumors turn out to be true and Tomlin does get the Pitt job and decides to clean house what about bringing in Russ Grimm as the offense coordinator for the Viking's?
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
