    1. Pass with extreme precision and accuracy. Pass on most downs.
    2. Run a complex offense involving 4 and 5 receiver sets. Test the defense with that.
    3. Not make a lot of mistakes on offense (i.e. motion penalties, etc.)
    4. Tackle well
    5. Have two decent running backs to keep the defense honest
    6. Have 'good enough' special teams

To me, the main thing you have to do in the modern NFL is have a very intelligent, very accurate passer who can run an offense involving 4 and 5 receiver sets, and an offense that involves passing most of the time. Being accurate is the main thing, and throwing a good ball is the main thing. On defense, tackle well.

I see us tackling well, but let's be honest, just pounding the ball up the middle will never be enough in the modern NFL. And I am not sure that Childress got the memo on that, either.

When I compare our QB with Brady, P.Manning, Romo, Favre, Hasselbeck, Roethlisberger, Brees, etc. it is like we are not even in the same league as those teams. And I don't think QBs get more accurate. If Tarvaris is this inaccurate after starting 16 games, he will never be more accurate.

You're right ... who are we kidding ... we are NEVER going to win the Super Bowl ... and that makes it stupid to be a fan.
Yeah, teams need a lot of things to win a Super Bowl and we only have a few things ... so time to move on. Time to join all Browns, Bengals, Bills, Jaguars, Titans, Texans, Chargers, Eagles, Lions, Saints, Panthers, Falcons, Seahawks and Cardinals fans in the "we haven't won a SB so we won't realm" and jump on another team. I mean ... clearly since we have not won ... and don't have a team to win this year (or <gasp> maybe even next year) we are kidding ourselves by being fans of these guys.
I think I'll like the Pats from now on. Sounds like a plan.

We're not an elite team. That's why we aren't in the playoffs.

We do however have a great running game and a very good defense, two things that help a GREAT deal in going to the playoffs and winning.

Do we need a quarterback to win? Absolutely. Are we very far from being competitive? Definitely not.
Didn't you mean a good run defense?
Elite run defense + decent pass defense = very good defense.

We will be fine. Next year we will be in the playoffs. T-Jack will be the talk of the NFL world...trust me.

The teams that are still in it have lines who kept the pressure off of their QB and gave them time to make reads and for plays to develop. We are not even close to being in the same class as those teams on the line.

#1) You don't have to have a QB like Brady, Peyton, or Favre to win a superbowl, this thing is done as a team. Peyton Manning won the superbowl last year and his play was poor.

#2) It's nice to do this but I don't think you have to.

#3) This goes for every game.

    #4) That too.

#5) It is my strong opinion that RB's are a dime a dozen they practicley grow on trees. Almost any RB that enters the league should be able to take advantage of good run blocking. Having two RB's is becoming something that most every team is doin. Those guys take a beating.

#6) Of course Specail Teams is always important.

The first thing i would want if my team was entering a SB is an offensive line that is just downright nasty. These guys love to road grade, there physically and mentally strong.

Then I would want a Defensive line that can consistently rush the passer effectivley.

If you have those two units doin there job consistently alot of things will fall into place with your Skilled players. I would say those two units have the biggest impact on the outcome of any given game.

Offensively we are very young and of course its gonna take some time, but i think the peices are coming together. It don't happen over night though.

I disagree that Tarvaris was inaccurate. He had his moments of course but he also was very accurate and his passes are on a tight rope. Don't forget about the balls that have been dropped since he's been here, that has a huge impact on his numbers, mostly notably the pass percentage and TD's. QB's can always get more accurate, Jackson is young, those guys you mentioned have been in the league for years. Lets talk when Tarvaris gets his toys.

Just for the record i'm a Tarvaris Jackson fan with or without the purple glasses, the kid has what it takes. He's taking alot of heat but you gotta let the haters hate, there just doin there job motivating our franchise QB.
