Re: Who should Minnesota draft in the 1st round?

I think with our seven picks we should draft seven wide receivers.

We should draft the entire Ohio State or USC squads.
We knoiw they play as a team and they both can win.

Yeah, let's hire Matt Millen away from the Lions too....I hear that he's a good judge of WR talent!

Re: Who should Minnesota draft in the 1st round?

must pick best player available on offense.
would love ginn, gonzalez, or jarrett.
agree with earlier posts regarding Williamson and Udeze (I'm eating crow from earlier this year regading Williamson) - what an unbelieveable disappointment.
We could use a differece making tight end too; Wiggins can catch a 4 yard pass with the best of them, but the league has changed; we need to reintroduce that position to Vikingland (eg, Voight, Senser, Jordan).
    Defense needs pass rushers..............period.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

I agree with part of that but I don't think we should pick a position on offense that could better be filled through free agency.

I could see us drafting an offensive lineman in the first round, picking up a good pass rushing DE in FA, getting anthony gonzalez in the 2nd round, and picking up Tony Gonzalez in free agency.

Re: Who should Minnesota draft in the 1st round?

a wide receiver in the first round is a luxury. if all other holes are filled a receiver is fine.that is not the case with us. although our o-line seems to be pretty good at run blocking, the pass blocking is horrendous. jerry rice in his prime could not succeed with our o-line. no QB will have time to throw. granted we may be amongst the worst receiving corps in the league, but until the line improves, we have other needs.
    o-line
    d-end
    receiver
    help for the defensive backfield.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

We need a shut down corner...bad

    And possibly a QB?
I've been a Viking fan since I was just out of diapers, hopefully we get Super Bowl win before I go back in 'em.

    Why?

We have Winfield and Griffin has looked really promising.
And he is only a rookie!

Yeah, really. Even Smoot has had some flashes of greatness this year. Smoot with a paycut playing nickel, Edwards back next year, and another 1 or 2 CB's to replace Whitaker and we are set.

I think we should definitely draft a WR in the first round being there is not big name going onto the FA market.
Ted Ginn will most likely be gone by the time we pick i would be shocked if he was still there.
Jarret would be nice but i think Dwayne Bowe from LSU would be a great pick also.
If Ted Ginn is gone before our first pick I may get drafted this year.
