where does he rank in terms of field goals made? and give me his clutch kick numbers. Our coaches obviosly want accuracy over big leg potential

Re: Where we stand, week 13
not bad, honestly though I think the thread needs to be refined a bit more. I think the kickers being compared need x number of 40+ attempts, and y number of 50+ attempts, as its not fair to compare kickers that haven't
kicked anything over 50 yards

If I could choose to have any kicker in the league I don't think I could bring myself to take anyone else.
Unless I'm mistaken, since Longwell came to the Vikes he has only missed one fieldgoal under 45 yards and it was a block.
He's also made all of the big kicks.
What else could one ask for?

Also, there's no special teams stats other than kicking, but I think we all know where we stand in special teams coverage

Re: Where we stand, week 13
Here is another one
Team Sacks
Minnesota 8th with 33 sacks through 12 games
in comparisson
Bears 15th with 24
Packers 26th with 20
I think our pass rush had improved alot, last year we finished with 33 sacks but no individual had more than 4 sacks
meaning we had to blitz alot last year to get to that total,
this year we have 2 players who can potentially go over
the double digit sacks,One is already there (jared allen with 10..5) and the other is kevin williams who needs 1.5 sack to reach 10 on the season.Since we have the luxury of getting prssure with just the front 4 this has resulted in our pass defense going from last in the league to being 21st (still room for improvement)

Re: Where we stand, week 13
A championship team needs more than one #1 statistical leader. Right now our only #1 is Adrian Peterson's rushing the ball.
Rushing defense can be tightened up, and passing defense should be improvable to the top ten. We need a better turnover differential. Special teams return and coverage units need to keep improving. The passing attack of course is where the biggest room for improvement is.
Go Vikings!
