Thread: Where is the PASS RUSH???

I wonder if we are containing the line too much to stop the run

guys and gals,

It does not matter what the pass rush does, we cant stop the pass period!
We have the worst pass defense in the league.
This is the WORST team I have ever seen.
Nothing this team does on defense is good!
Wait the run defense is it!


Brad Johnson does not deserve to be our starting qb.
After the huge game by Pinner last week, Why would Chidress not start him?
Longwell missing is field goal, Something is wrong there!


T. Jack BETTER start the rest of the season.
Looks to me like the kid can create plays on his own.
I have wanted this for along time!
Maybe the idiot Childress has figured it out let T. Jack play.
I wish the fans would smarten up at the game, you boo the team which has done nothing!
Heck get you butt out of your seat and leave the game, thing the vikes and coaches would not see that and maybe want to try harder?

if he does 6-10 season and another wasted season to be a Vikings fan.
How I wish we could have traded up for Lienart or Cutler!
T Jack I do like but I think he needs a season to fully understand the nfl.

You can't have a pass rush and rushing defense at the same time, at least we can't.
Our pass rushers are still in college.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but IMO you are dead wrong.
You cannot give a QB time to go through his progressions and hit the open guy.
That is a huge and that is whats wrong with out pass D...we give the QB way to much time to get the open WR, TE, or RB.

If you force to QB to move out of the pocket then his timing with his WR's is off.
He may even try and push it a little and throw a pass he does not want to.
I think we have all seen Favre do this many times.
If we could get more pressure and shutdown the pass even a little, then they may try and go back to the run...and then we would crush that.

In your opinion, is it the defensive strategy that needs to be changed or personnel?

I'm pretty sure you were exaggerating but if not you have gone mental.
I'm sorry, your post just doesn't make sense.

I think it will get better. We should definitely be a better unit right away with Erasmus back. Erasmus with Ray Edwards filling in as a pass rusher is perfectly good at one end. On the other side though, Udeze has got to go. He gets no pressure whatsoever. If we could get a good Wide Receiver with a package of Smoot, Udeze, and a later round draft pick in a trade, that would be perfect.

On IR with a busted ACL!

The best answer I can give at this point is to have a designated pass rusher like we had with Lance Johnstone.

What else CAN be done?

We have 2 first round picks at DE and I think that they're more of run stoppers. We're obviously not going to give up on them, but we do need some speed off the edge.
