I GUARANTEE a home playoff game this year.
    Remember this post everyone.
If I have to eat crow then so be it.
    Hopefully I won't.

I usually don't make bold predictions but hell if Kitna can do it then so can I.
Let's just hope I don't follow suit (Detroit not winning 10 games last year).
When you get a little older you will be like me, I've eaten so much crow I've developed a taste for it. ;D ;D

    You will but

The Mayan Calendar ends on Dec 21 2012- and the Mayan calendar is more accurate in predicting celestial happenings than even some of our scientists.

NASA has confirmed that on that precise date the center of our Universe will be perfectly in line with a huge black hole.

The fear is that this could cause a magnetic swith in polarity; possibly causing earthquakes, plate shifts, volcanos, tsunamis and the like.

There may be some evidence that this has happened before. If you dig deep enough in some of the most northern climates, you can find fossils and evidence of tropical animals and plant life.

If this does happen it would be devestating, but there is the chance that many would still survive, though things would change quite a bit obviously.

Of course now taht this is getting more poular there are people interpreting the iChing and Nostradamus writings to refelct the same theory, but the same people always do that.

There are so many holes in that story that is is beyond ridiculous.
Open a thread in the Clubhouse if you want to discuss it further.
I will be more than happy to contribute...

Has happened many times before. Many rocks and fossils show the magnetic polarity switched. I am taking that day off though. you know, as a precaution.

... since the last time we hosted an NFL playoff game in Minnesota.
That streak needs to end - THIS YEAR.

Here is the playoff appearance history for the Vikings.
Years the Vikings made the playoffs are in black, years the Vikings missed the playoffs are in red.

    1970 1980 1990 2000
    1961 1971 1981 1991 2001
    1962 1972 1982 1992 2002
    1963 1973 1983 1993 2003
    1964 1974 1984 1994 2004
    1965 1975 1985 1995 2005
    1966 1976 1986 1996 2006
    1967 1977 1987 1997 2007
    1968 1978 1988 1998 2008??
    1969 1979 1989 1999

From the late 60's through the early 80's the Vikings were one of the power houses of the NFL.
A lot of long time Vikings fans refer to the 80's as the "lean" 80's - making the playoffs only once in 6 years.
At the time, that was the worst streak since the Vikings first went to the playoffs in 1968.

But as I look at our playoff history now, it hurts to realize that we are in an even leaner period right now.
We have gone to the playoffs only once in the past seven seasons - and that was the year of that wonderful playoff game in Green Bay.
    The drought ends this season.

It is time for the Vikings to reclaim their rightful throne atop the NFC.
As the latest Vikings e-brochure said, "The time is NOW.
    Are you ready for NOW?"
When we march into Lambeau Field on September 8th this year, the media will be talking about the end of Brett Fav-re 's starting streak.
But the Vikings are going to be working towards ending a few other streaks as well.
Green Bay's winning streak against the Vikings will end that night.
By December, our playoff drought will end.
By January, our lack of both NFC North Championships as well as home playoff games will be no more.
And come February, we will end the most important streak of all.

    Skol Vikings faithful.
    This is our year.
I blame the recent playoff drought on Red McCombs.
    >

When he bought it, it was pretty good, then it went down hill. Now Wilf is digging us back out.

I also noticed a pattern in there.

We made the playoffs in 1968, 1978, 1988, and 1998.
Guess what comes next in that list. ;D
Good thing I have season tickets now!
    ;D

I can't wait for my first playoff game in the dome.
    You and me both brother.
I have been to a helluva lot of NFL games in my life time - including the freaking Super Bowl - but I have never been to an NFL playoff game.

Yet another streak that will end this year.
I have been to a playoff game but not in the dome. The Packer/Viking game was fun but it would be better surrounded by Viking fans.
