Foley screwed the pooch on b and c with respect to Clemens.
Lets hope Spielmen gets it right.

;D
Shouldn't we have extended Foley's contract for continuity sake?

:P

Not with the way he ran that draft as well as told stories in his resume'.
The man was a yutz and to date, Z is the only one on here I ever see stick up for him.

You've posted that fairy tale so often you've started to believe it.

=Z=
LOL - you call me saying that your "fantasy" story about Foley supposedly screwing up in the draft room and not drafting world-beater Kellen Clemens is sticking up for him?

It's nothing of the sort.
It's calling YOU out for continuing to post something for which there is not one single shred of evidence other than your own Sherlock Holmesian deductions.
Admit it.
You have man love for the guy.....
Keep ducking it, Marr.
I'll keep jumping on you whenever you post this fantasy as fact.

Why do you believe that anything anyone posts on a site like this is fact?

All one had to do back then was do a bit of reasearch to see that both the Vikes and the Jets had interest in Clemens.

By the way, I've given you all kinds of links to that very same crap that support some of my fantasy musings.
;D

This ones sums it up the best for me though.....

http://blog.lib.umn.edu/maasx003/Vik...nfl_draft.html
Purportedly, the Vikings had Oregon quarterback Kellen Clemens as their target in the second round. The Vikings erroneously assumed that Clemens would still be available when they next selected at fifty-one. When the N.Y. Jets swung a deal with the Dallas Cowboys to move into the number forty-nine position to take Clemens, the Vikings’ draft room imploded, with those who wanted to take Clemens at forty-eight at odds with those who did not.
Another one....

Again with the truth stuff.

Face it My Sexy Little Pixie, the Vikes showed interest in 3 QB's that year.
Cutler, Clemens and TJ.
Because Foley screwed the pooch on the draft, we settled for TJ.

IMHO (and yes I've given you links on this as well you poo poo away) that lead to the shouting match between Foley, Chiller and Scott.
Then add in the fact that he lied on his resume and he wasn't long for the Vikings org.

I still marvel that some of you on here believe that how/who/what we pick has anything to do with the Chillers job security.
A high selection of a QB will only prove that I am right about my contention that TJ was our third option that year cause Foley screwed the pooch and missed out on Cutler (asking price was to high to move up) and Clemens (cause he wasn't aware that the Jets were gonna take him).
Gonna be a shock when/if we do take a QB high (might be before the 4th round) and the guy is still the HC next year.

What?

Are you trying to make a point with that stuff?

Foley screwed the pooch, missed out on Cutler and Clemens and settled on TJ?
Isn't that basically what I just said up there?

In no way does that mean he made a mistake by picking TJ.........Just means he messed up by not getting the first two QB's the staff targeted......

How many times have you seen this?

Lets say this, you are the GM, you now have the pick and need a young QB, which one would you take now that you screwed the pooch on missing Cutler and your second option (Clemens)?

QB 1
Matt Leinart SR 6-5/217/- USC Santa Ana, CA
QB 2
Vince Young JR 6-5/233/- Texas Houston, TX

Paul Pinegar SR 6-4/220/- Fresno State Woodland, CA
QB 16
Travaris Jackson SR -/-/- Alabama State

By the way, a bit of research would show you that alot of teams were at his private workouts.
To sit here and try to say that 31 teams passed on him is simply crazy talk.
I bet he would have been gone later in the second round or early 3rd based on what QB's were still on the board and the number of teams that worked him out.

Do you have the Insider?
If so I will send you several articles on who came to see him other than the Vikes.

I like what you guys are saying.
I just have one question.

Were has the Chiller ever said he was a QB guru?
I have beat this to death alot on this page.
The Chiller isn't any sort of guru when it comes to QB's.

Take alook at the QB's that the press (not the Chiller) uses as the means to drive this stuff and you will see that Coach Rogers has more to do with the development of those QB's than the Chiller does.

As to the "Stubborn Attitude" point.
I can also can see were you are going with that, however, if you look at the bigger picture you will see that this staff (not just the Chiller) has been trying to fix the QB issue even before they drafted TJ.

My guess is that because the Chiller has continually said "Nice" stuff about him, everyone has now come to the conclusion he is stubbornly defending him instead of just not hanging him out to dry in the press.

I mean seriously, what would you expect him to say in the press conferences... ........

The front office has failed again in its attempts to get me a viable option at QB so I am force to yet again run this team out with a raw I-AA QB who can't make a pre-snap adjustment at the line?

Here are a few interesting threads we've had on this subj which I have posted with respect to the idea that this staff settled on TJ as thier 3rd option vice the 2 actual QB they had targeted in that draft.

Long story short, when it was our turn to get a QB, there wasn't much left in that draft.
Who would have you taken at this point based on what was known then (and now for that matter)?

QB 1
Matt Leinart SR 6-5/217/- USC Santa Ana, CA
QB 2
Vince Young JR 6-5/233/- Texas Houston, TX
QB 3
Jay Cutler SR 6-4/225/- Vanderbilt Lincoln City, IN

QB 6
Kellen Clemens SR 6-2/218/- Oregon Burns, OR
QB 7
Omar Jacobs JR 6-4/210/- Bowling Green Delray Beach, FL
QB 8
Ingle Martin SR 6-3/219/- Furman Nashville, TN
QB 9
Darrell Hackney SR 6-1/230/- UAB Atlanta, GA
QB 10
Reggie McNeal SR 6-2/206/- Texas A&M Lufkin, TX
QB 11
Bruce Gradkowski SR 6-2/210/- Toledo Pittsburgh, PA
QB 12
D.J. Shockley SR 6-1/206/- Georgia College Park, GA
QB 13
Brett Basanez SR 6-2/210/- Northwestern Arlington Hts, IL
QB 14
Erik Meyer SR 6-2/210/- Eastern Washington La Mirada, CA
QB 15
Paul Pinegar SR 6-4/220/- Fresno State Woodland, CA
QB 16
Travaris Jackson SR -/-/- Alabama State

Probably explains why this staff is still drafting QB's and still trying to find a viable vet IMHO

Had I posted the entire posts, this one post would have taken two pages.

The point is you claimed Foley screwed the pooch by not getting 1 of the 2 QB's you thought they had on their draft card & because of it, we had to settle for TJ.

QB 3
Jay Cutler SR 6-4/225/- Vanderbilt Lincoln City, IN
QB 4
Brodie Croyle SR 6-2.5/206/- Alabama Rainbow City, AL
QB 5
Charlie Whitehurst SR 6-4/215/4.75 Clemson Alpharetta, GA
QB 6
Kellen Clemens SR 6-2/218/- Oregon Burns, OR
QB 7
Omar Jacobs JR 6-4/210/- Bowling Green Delray Beach, FL
QB 8
Ingle Martin SR 6-3/219/- Furman Nashville, TN
QB 9
Darrell Hackney SR 6-1/230/- UAB Atlanta, GA
QB 10
Reggie McNeal SR 6-2/206/- Texas A&M Lufkin, TX

QB 15

QB 3
Jay Cutler SR 6-4/225/- Vanderbilt Lincoln City, IN
QB 4
Brodie Croyle SR 6-2.5/206/- Alabama Rainbow City, AL
QB 5
Charlie Whitehurst SR 6-4/215/4.75 Clemson Alpharetta, GA
QB 6
Kellen Clemens SR 6-2/218/- Oregon Burns, OR
QB 7
Omar Jacobs JR 6-4/210/- Bowling Green Delray Beach, FL
QB 8
Ingle Martin SR 6-3/219/- Furman Nashville, TN
QB 9
Darrell Hackney SR 6-1/230/- UAB Atlanta, GA
QB 10
Reggie McNeal SR 6-2/206/- Texas A&M Lufkin, TX
QB 11
Bruce Gradkowski SR 6-2/210/- Toledo Pittsburgh, PA
QB 12
D.J. Shockley SR 6-1/206/- Georgia College Park, GA
QB 13
Brett Basanez SR 6-2/210/- Northwestern Arlington Hts, IL
QB 14
Erik Meyer SR 6-2/210/- Eastern Washington La Mirada, CA
QB 15
Paul Pinegar SR 6-4/220/- Fresno State Woodland, CA
QB 16
Travaris Jackson SR -/-/- Alabama State

Probably explains why this staff is still drafting QB's and still trying to find a viable vet IMHO

I like it that you search, however, make sure you aren't using my posts (leaving out info) to suite your point my friend....... ;D ;D ;D
That is why the links are there my friend. They are there in their entirety for you to see.

Had I posted the entire posts, this one post would have taken two pages.

The point is you claimed Foley screwed the pooch by not getting 1 of the 2 QB's you thought they had on their draft card & because of it, we had to settle for TJ.
That is a lot of bullshit in one post.
