Re: When was the last time the Vikes actually beat the Philadelphia Eagles???

Yesterday was as sweet as it comes, blowing out the evil empire made my weekend. Yes coming out flat is a huge concern, not as big as worrying about our coaches game calling (worst game day coach in the nfl IMO) it will be an exciting weekend, never been to the metrodome, and never been to an eagle playoff game!! Here's to an exciting game and no injuries.

I'm from New England. (Long story.)
Never been to a game in Minny.
You have obviously never seen Chilly in action as a HC.
Not the worst ever, but IMO, not very good at all.
This team could have easily been 13-3 or 14-2 with the right leadership.

Or if Gus didn't throw so many INTs or Peterson didn't fumble so much.

Not to mention the special teams players that fumbled the ball and got hit with it when they were blocking.
Oh yeah the special teams also forgot to tackle most of the time.

    Excellent point Pax.
This is what I am trying to point out to everyone.
There are certain aspects to the game that Childress has no control over.
    Is he ultimately responsible?
    Yes.
However, it doesn't mean he's a bad coach.
Things happen during the game that has nothing to do with Childress coaching.

Who is responsible for a team's QB situation heading into any NFL teams season???
Hint...it ain't the freakn' sausage guy!!!

Who is responsible for making sure their team is prepared to play all three facets of the game, in ANY situation that may arise???
    Hint...it ain't the Cheerleader coach!!!
Why didn't other NFL contenders have to deal with terrible STs play and repeated fundamental mistakes???
Here a clue...maybe they know how to coach in the NFL!!!

Okay if you want to bring something back that has been discussed a million times let me ask you to do something.
Please tell me what his options were heading into the season.
List names of QBs who you think he could have sought after.
Tell me what you would have done.

By the way the responsibility it not solely his.
It is a team effort of other coaches and the front office that determines who they seek.

What does the QB situation have to do with STs not tackling or AP fumbling

Hint..... stop making yourself look foolish.
Why don't you tell me how the team has been unprepared?
You have no basis to make that statement.
You are not in the locker room.
You don't know what goes on behind the scenes.
All you see is what happens on the field for 3 hours a week.
A coach's job is to teach and yes prepare.
The players job is to learn and execute.
You have to understand the players are the ones at ault for not executing.
Childress definately does not teach them to fumble the ball, cause penalties or even allow punt/kick returns for TDs.
