I think we can stop Tiki. Too many threats downfield they have (shout out to Yoda) Plaxico has got moss like height and hands. Our D line is gonna need to put the pressure on all day long. rest up fellas, and stay off the lakes!!!!

Oh, and did anyone mention were playing on the road.

I guess.. covering them to the best of our abilities would help.

    Pressure, Pressure, Pressure!

if we give Manning all day to throw we will get torched!? The aggressive we are on defensive will be directly related to how manning throws the ball and how much pressure we put on our DB's to come up with numerous big plays

Re: What should we do to stop the giants big receivers?

After reading what Del had to say, I think he should be our D coordinator. He would be a lot better than Ted Cotrell

Our keys for the game are very simple:

    1. Pressure Eli.

As many of you said we need to pressure Eli early and often. he is a young QB and if he isn't in his groove then he will get frustrated and won't be able to throw crisp passses. We need to start off the game with our front for as all huge pass rushers. After watching last game, our best pass rushing ends are easily Erasmus James and Lance Johnstone. If Lance and Erasmus can play a lot of the game then we will reek havok on the defensive side of the ball. Kevin and Pat are good at the tackle spots but Kevin really needs to step up his game against the giants. Pat helps us stop Tiki while he is there.

    2. Don't play soft zone defense:

I noticed last game that when Antoine was covering the lions recievers that when he played one yard off he played really agressive and made good plays on the ball, one of which resulted in an Interception. When he played 5 yards off, we got burned whether it was Smoot or Winfield. This is a serious problem for our defense and something that we really need to fix. Obviously, Cotrell won't fix it so that is why I want Del coaching our D.

    3. Run the ball often:

It seems that we may (finally) have the one-two punch that we have waited for for 4 years. Bennett and Moore both played really well last game. Although they both had very good games hitting the holes (moore) and getting to the corner (Bennett) the offensive line had a superb game. Fowler can actually PULL! If Fonoti turns out to be as good as he is supposed to be then we could perhaps get him into this game if he is down to weight. If not then we are still fine with our current offensive line situation. Fowler now looks like one of our better moves this season considering that he is a fairly big guy who can still get out in front of the backs and block down field. That is the way a Center should play in our offense.

    4. Stay cool, Brad:

If brad can stay cool under pressure and the recievers can run their routes, then Brad will hit them every time. He is an experienced Quarterback who knows our offense very well. Don't doubt Brad.

Double Burress, shadow shockey at all times.

cause turn overs, keep the offense balanced and effective.

    all this + heart = a win.

based on history of this and last season:

Del is right on--vikes play soft zones, single cover burress, and abandon the blitz after a few deep successful plays.

all this + our offense going back to 2 weeks ago = we lose badly.

Brad has a lot of faith in Troy. I think that is a plus. The play before Troy dropped the TD pass in the 2nd quarter, I saw Brad yelling to the sideline to get Troy on the field.

    Stop Giants receivers?
Simple. Put led in their shoes before the kickoff

It appears we can play well against slower receivers like Detroit has fielded against us. Speedy wideouts (and quick ones) kill us. Our LB's can't cover speedy back either very well so that has to be a concern also against the G-Men (Tiki Barber has burned our LB's annually it seems).

So hide some led into the soles of their shoes!

I say we get some stones and slings.

    It worked for David.

We can cover these guys if Ted runs a D that uses our guys in a proper way.

I wonder if the 3-4 will come back this week?
