Re: What if the Vikings still had...

It's hard to necessarily agree with the author.
Let me play devils advocate point by point.

    1. DC...I'll grant you the Vikings might not be 2-0, might even be 0-2.
Money issues aside (and it seems now that maybe that was a driving issue with DC), I think DC just wanted some assurances that he would be "the man".
I think he could have run the WCO as good as BJ, but he would have had just as much problem with Peppers this past week as BJ did.
Would DC have more turnovers at this point?
    Can't really say for certain.
It is hard to say that he could have done a better job than BJ at this point.

    2. While I think the addition of Tomlin and some of the personnel that have been added has been great, don't forget that the defense really started to light it up in the second half of last season.
I give the players skill more credit for that than Cotrell, but the fact is they played like a top ten defense late in the year (Baltimore game the exception).
Don't know how much influence Tice had on personnel, but you have to wonder how different this team might look...would Burleson still be here, would Brian Williams be here instead of Smoot, would Cook have been drafted, hell, would DC still be here?
Given the whole "tough guy town" mentality of Tice, the first two games have played out exactly like he would have done (except the fake field goal).

    3. The question is, would they have signed someone?
    Alexander?
    James?
    Foster?
There are any number of RBs they could have signed, assuming they were cutting Bennett and Whizz wasn't going to be back.
They could have done the same thing, or even better.

    4. TD pass aside, Longwell has yet to do anything that Edinger couldn't/didn't.
Overall, Longwell is a more accurate kicker and Edinger certainly blew some makeable FGs last season, but Edinger also hit some long ones as well.

    Didn't need one.
They've already got 3 in Taylor, Robinson and Williamson.

And they *thought* they had a 4th in Koren Robinson, until he fell off the wagon and into the seat of his car.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I said "good", and taylor doesn't count as he is an RB.

I think he is referring to Travis Taylor, although Chester doesn't have bad hands either.

If Tice and Culpepper were still here...
Tice would have sold tickets for the home opener (above market value) and given them to Daunte to deliver.
Daunte would have dropped them several times before being intercepted by the police. Luckily for both of them, Moss would have driven over the cops and they both would get away.

And yes, I think we would be 0-2.
