Re: Welcome Mike Singletary!
Nice, assistant head coach. Not sure what it means other than the Wilfs are still willing to spend money(I assume assistant head coaches make more than linebacker coaches).

Assistant HC could just be a label they give him that Carolina wasn't going to offer.
However, lots of times when teams try and woo a coach away from another team, they give him the AHC label. Means he helps out more with coaching duties, and would be like Fraizer's second in command. I think that works for Singletary, as I see him as less of an X's and O's guy, but more of a guy who can motivate the players and get them playing strong.
I think it's a great hire.
Re: Welcome Mike Singletary!
Love it. He ran the 34 in San Fran and Baltimore and obviously ran the 46 defense with the Bears. Baltimore also used the 46 some when he and Rex where there so I'd like to see if maybe he can help get a little creative with the defense.

Motivator, former player, won't let guys get away with little mistakes on defense. Hopefully will hold everyone accountable.
I'm curious to see what he, Pagac, and Frazier can create defensively. Could be a very interesting mix of ideas.
Re: Welcome Mike Singletary!
Fantastic hire. I would play for Singletary, and I would want my boys play for him.

That is what I was thinking. I wouldn't mind moving into a 34, although I don't know if Kevin Williams would be all that thrilled to switch.
EDIT - To add to that... even though he is the LB coach, I honestly see this as the first step in moving into a 34, as they are key to the scheme. I wonder if we would take one of our good pass rushers like Robison and move him into a LB position to fit the 34.
Re: Welcome Mike Singletary!
I like the hire. When is Patrick Willis' contract up ?

Sorry, I was having fantasies again. A little research shows you are right. Oh well!
