Re: Week 2: Postgame Thoughts and Observations
Can anyone say Jeff Garcia?
Jackson is horseshit and is the main reason this team is 0-2.

Re: Week 2: Postgame Thoughts and Observations
Just wow.
The Good:
1. AP
2. Defense got a good amount of pressure.
3. Shut down the run.
The Bad:
1. Terrible coaching on offense.
Play calling is so damn predictable.
2. Tarvaris inconsistent again, another sub 60% completion and sub 200 yard game (becoming the norm).
3. Receivers do nothing significant, Berrian looks like wasted money right now.
Shiancoe is garbage and wasted money as well.
4. Defense still sucesptible to the big play.
Griffin was brutal and the safeties didn't look good either.
5. Very questionable reffing.
Like against GB, pass interference is apparently legal for the other team.
Gonzalez very clearly dropped the ball on the second last drive.
no way the first TD should have been called one.
6.
Childress is now 14-20 as our head coach, he sure is taking us places
:
.
7. Same old Vikes, choking again.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

Re: Week 2: Postgame Thoughts and Observations
The thing which really stood out in this game and the reason we lost was that the Colts changed blocking schemes in the second half. Because of it we didn't get nearly the pressure on Manning that we did in the first half. Any time you give Manning a bit of time he will hurt you, and he did. I put the loss on the defensive coach for not adjusting after seeing the new Colts scheme in the second half.
Oh ya, and Jackson...Kentucky Vikes Fan

When you require nothing, you get nothing; when you expect nothing, you will find nothing; when you embrace nothing, all you will have is nothing.

It's a long season. Childress needs more time to build this team back after Green and Tice utterly destroyed it. He should be given a one-year extension.

Re: Week 2: Postgame Thoughts and Observations
Goods:
Another good week for the defense, They gave us a opportunity to win this week and last week.
Artis Hicks with the exception of one play where Freeny beat him and stripped the ball from Tjack he played well.
Rest of the OL- I thought did a solid job as well.
AD this is pretty much a No brainer
Bads:
Shianco, I still have major doubts about TJack, and i doubt that will change but he at least needs to have someone that can catch a ball. If there is anyone on this team that needs to go first it is him.
TJack not
a good game not a bad game, but he needs to step up. Period. Yeah there were dropped passes but Wayne and Gonzo dropped soem to for teh Colts. Not ripping on him but my stane at this point with Tjack is that he is not capable of running the offense. People rip the play calling but IO think its more of what they can and cannot run when he is the QB of the team.
Nothing I would really say went wrong on Defense. Yeah they gave up a big play, but what defense does not, it still was not enough to loose the game for us.
Offense outside of the OL and Hicks(Once again solid game Hicks) there enough blame to go around, and not on one person TJack or Chilly included.(well maybe except Shianco
)

[hr]
2 for 12 on 3rd downs, both to Aundrae Allison in the 3rd quarter. 10 of 12 were short passes, one was a run for nothing, the other a sack(probably would have been a short pass had he not gotten sacked
:P )
We have a serious third down issue.
It's a combination of bad play calling and execution. When one works right, the other fails. However, it all starts with the play sent to the field. You'll still failed with a perfectly executed bad play call.
Replace Wade with Allison on the depth chart.
Incorporate the god damn play-action.
Keep Peterson in on third downs, we were supposed to fix that problem over the off-season. By pulling him every single 3rd down the defense knows what's coming(this sounds an awful lot like what we were saying last season.)
They tried to work some wheel routes to Peterson early on, but they didn't work out, I think we should keep trying those though.
I'm not going to get on the [s]kill[/s] can Chilly bandwagon now, but if we have less than 3 wins by week 8, and/or the offense is still not producing, I'll be riding that bandwagon like it was the last chopper out of Vietnam.

Re: Week 2: Postgame Thoughts and Observations
Another anemic, predictable passing game.
1st Down: Run for 4-5 yards
2nd Down: Run for 1-2 yards
3rd Down: Throw a Go route?
Why, for the love of god do we throw Go routes on 3rd down, we did it 3 times already this season, and did it a lot last season. Play calling is awful, predictable, very weak in creativity and EXTREMELY conservative.
Other than that the only other passing play we have is a quick slant, curl and short crossing route...with 8 men in the box, you would think a skinny post would be in the play call, nope.
There is nothing else to describe how bad Skankho is, another critical drop, bench him, put in Mills. He is killing us, at least Mills was getting open.
Jackson, ok I am still going to give him the benefit of doubt, but come on man...any other QB that was any good would be lighting up the defense with 8 men in the box.
Where is the play action? I saw it on boot plays, that was it.
This is a sad day for Vikings fans and I feel it's going to be a sad and long season as well.

I think we have seen the best that we can see out of TJack. But a solid take.

Tice and Green both have better records than this joke of a head coach.
