Whoa! We're not THAT bad. We've had 3 rough games in a row, but we stillhave beaten some quality opponents this year. I'd chalk up Washington, Carolina and Seattle as decent wins. Not all is lost quite yet....we do have some potential.

    who cares.
we should be 2-0 our last two games and deserve the ranking after our losses.
this four game stretch shoulda put us at 8-3 when done with miami and arizona.
kiss that goodbye along with the playoffs.

When was "respect from the Press" added to playoff tie-breaker list?

    =Z=
Not a tie-breaker...a DEAL-BREAKER...as in who wants to come and play for the Vikings when they are just gonna get laughed at...unless we overpay them!
Contrast the Patsies...they UNDERPAY many of their players...who stay because they aren't constantly blasted in the press.

So, you see...it DOES matter what the image of the team is in the press...and I don't appreciate the press dogging us before we earn the dogging!

What would you expect the press to write about the Vikes at currently ???, 3 teams have eaten up the secondary; they don't even try to run on us at the moment.
Our Oline hasn't protected our QB who is as mobile as an oak tree; we went over 11 quarters without a pass for a TD. The Pats might be a SB contender but GB and SF aren't.
We have gotten away from the smash mouth run game and the adjustments Childress was talking about installing haven't worked yet.

Adapting to the second half of the season or even a game isn't something a team strength at the moment.

Before we play the Pats ESPN rated the Vikes at 12

The Seattle win was impressive. Still, we have doubts. Now, beat New England on Monday night and we'll say it loud and proud (or at least in all caps) that the Vikings are Super Bowl contenders.
After the loss moved down to 16, GB at 20 and SF at 29

Even after the loss to SF Vikes only dropped 2 spots to 18

But the another loss to team with a losing record team and here we are

This was supposed to be the easy part of the schedule. Instead Vikes stub their toe on San Francisco and Green Bay with Miami on deck.
This was suppose to be the easy part of the schedule, one lose could be an oops, 2 loses are an oh oh we have a problem.
Miami at home could be a big problem right now and a bad showing at home against the Cards would be very ugly.

    No.
    YOU think it matters.
    And I think you're wrong.

Who's the biggest joke in the NFL?
    The Arizona Cardinals.
Who was the biggest free agent to switch teams in the off-season?
    Edgerrin James.
    Where did he sign?
He might be over-paid based on the production in 2006, but the money he got at the time was right in line with what people thought he should get.

Now - let's look at OUR recent free-agent signings:
2005/6 - Steve Hutchinson, Tank Williams, Dwight Smith, Tony Richardson
2004/5 - Darren Sharper, Travis Taylor, Brad Johnson, Pat Williams
    2003/4 - Antoine Winfield

There's some pretty good players on that list.
Guess the bad press you go on and on about really swayed them to stay away.

    As to New England.
I would invite you to peruse the Boston Globe some time if you think they're just getting a free pass from the media.

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Dude, the Patsies could be UNDEFEATED and the Boston Globe would find negative crap to write about them.
Just the nature of the fans and sportswriters there...they think that nitpicking their and other teams means that they are all-knowing and can't be fooled...just one more symptom of their insecurity.
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE
