Weak NFC North
Just caught this prediction...
javascript:cnnVideo('play','/video/nfl/2006/07/28/peterking.nissan.SportsIllustrated');
I know the North is not the strongest division, and it's good to fly under the radar, but didn't Culpepper suck last year before he was injured and Brad won most of the games he has started? We would have made the play-offs if not for losing the Ravens game, and the Lions have done nothing but sucked since...forever. But the Lions may win the division
ukeright: Dark horse indeed.
WELL, I LL ASK HIM, BUT I DON T THINK HE WILL BE VERY KEEN. UH, HE S ALREADY GOT ONE, YOU SEE.

Just saw the link doesn't work. SI.com and then Peter King's "breakdown" of the '06 season.

Re: Weak NFC North
I don't think the Lions have any chance at all of winning the division this year. It will be us or Chicago. No way in hell do the Lions win it.

Re: Weak NFC North
Just to clarify...the Vikings still would have missed the playoffs if they had won the Ravens game. Bears would still have won division, Panthers would beat us for wild card because we lost head-to-head with them, and Redskins would beat us based on better NFC record.
The way the season played out, the Vikings would have had to have beaten both the Steelers and the Ravens to make the playoffs. Losing to the Panthers is really the game that kept the Vikings from being a wild card.SKOL VIKINGS!

The Lions are my surprised pick, behind us of course. They are due for a winning season. They have the offensive mastermind in Mike Martz, who turns 3rd-5th string QBs into Pro-Bowl type QBs, they are due.I don't think the Lions have any chance at all of winning the division this year. The Bears are too inconsistent. One year they are the hottest team in the NFC North and the next 2-3 years, they are average if best.
The Packers......nevermind. That whole eposide with Brett Farve over the offseason shows where their mindset is at, they will self check in week four.
So it will be the Vikings at 11-5 and the Lions 10-6. I am calling it now!!

I think that the Lions front office and management will still keep them from being successful.
