Re: We need a passing attack to keep Peterson healthy!
We don't need a passing attack to keep AD healthy, we just need one period to be competitive.
That is what I want for Christmas, it is a passing game and a pain free knee for AD.
Please Santa!

Atleast use him better
Use him and Chester is 2 back sets.. They are our only 2 weapons aside of Rice
Use the screens and all that

Re: We need a passing attack to keep Peterson healthy!
I was one who never said give him more touches.
He gets enough carries.
25-28 carries a game is great.
But when all you can do is run the ball and teams key on the run, then you are definitely dead in the water.
How many times do we keep having to go through this.
In order for your team to be well balanced, you MUST have a passing game, and I mean an effective one.
You have to throw the ball on first down sometime.
It is funny that other teams get this.
The cheese heads get this.
Pats, Cowboys, Steelers get this.
They have a well balanced game.
We should all be embarrassed by this terrible performace.
We might have scored one touchdown if Bollinger throws the ball to M. Moore the right way instead of behind him.

Thank u Vikemike
Giving him more carries won't win the game (always)

Ummm. Did you watch the game? They tried a bunch of screens. They didn't work! On one (like another poster said), AD dropped the ball. If he looses the last 3-5 years of his career, because he is used like a feature back is supposed too, that's the NFL. Most likely, AD won't be here his last 3-5 years (see Shawn Alexander). If you look at his stats, he gets stronger the more carries he gets. Against the chargers (if using your theory of limited touches), he would never have been on the field to break the big ones. Come on some of you, it was a low hit, and he will get those hits again. Let the stud run and worry about injuries or wearing down when it comes to that. Why are some of you worried about him hitting the wall this year? We're definatly not going to play after the regular season anyway.Atleast use him better

As far as Thigpen goes..........Why the hell do some of you think that he was the answer to all that is bad in this world? He looked fine during pre-season against mop up defenses. We'll find another. And if he was that great, he'd be starting for the Chiefs.
And for once make a stand and stick with it! Chilly gets reamed for not letting AD have 20-25 touches a game. Now some of you want him to touch the ball 11 times a game. ??? :

Re: We need a passing attack to keep Peterson healthy!
Thanks VL4 for understanding the point I was trying to make. It has to do with the system we now have in place and not with the carries AD gets. It would be so much more advantageous for the Vikings if they featured even a mediocre passing game. With 8 men in the box he's going to get hit hard and often. Give us even a remote threat of a passing game and AD is taking on 6 tacklers instead of 8. People are just taking out their frustrations after such an ugly loss. I give kuddos to everyone for caring enough to post after losing like we did. Nothing but die hard tried and true fans posting this morning. We're all on the same side so let's not take this discussion out of context. If I could reword my initial post I would.

Wasn't Peterson hurt on a passing play?Even if yesterdays injury turns out not to be serious it's imminent that he's going to have a serious injury when teams can key on him All Day long. Without a passing game we're throwing Peterson to the wolves. Give him 10 carries a game and keep him healthy as opposed to him being a tackling dummy in our current system. Childress is going to ruin the only thing our offense has going for them right now. That's if Peterson doesn't already go under the knife from yesterdays injury.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: We need a passing attack to keep Peterson healthy!
I was agreeing with u Vike Mike haha
Just saying u can't always give him the ball and expect him to rip off 3 60 yard runs and win the game

Re: We need a passing attack to keep Peterson healthy!
Grrape
I wasn't saying that man.. We all want him to get 20-25 touches a game.. He just needs a pass game so he can run against 5-6 in the box only
And use him different.. We tried 1 screen pass to him and he dropped it..
We did it again with Chester and he ripped off like a 50 yard catch
Im sick of seeing AP go left for 3.. Right for 5.. Pass and punt
Next series same thing..
Next after that the same.. Just get a passing game and his big runs will come even more.. And use AP more then just draws and dives
