We might be a completely different team next year
I hope the major changes this off season go in our favor. Free agents, current players, draft, etc I am really optimistic because of the fact that we are only missing a few key components of our team to be serious competitors.

We might be a completely different team next year
i think all this offseason stuff is exciting...more exciting that our 8-8 season maybe. best possible scenario:
red sells, we pick up a few key defensive players, re-sign wiggins, get kleinsasser and rosenthal back, draft a nice rookie kicker and a nice rookie CB, burleson gets even better, melwade moore ends up being our 3rd best reciever out of the backfield, Udeze becomes the second year pro-bowler Kevin Williams became, we beat the giants cause of our better defense, and culpepper finally has an offense that is threat for their running ability.
i don't see much of a downside to that.
worst case scenerio:
red's too cheap to sell, wiggins goes to detroit in FA, we draft another WR in the first round, we pick up one more Defensive FA--that's it, we stay way under the salary cap again, moss asks to leave, culpepper asks to leave, we lose to the giants again, and our players would rather have the flu than play the last 4 games of the season.
i pick closer to the 1st scenario, how bout you?

By far the most important thing is for Red to sell the team. Once that happens, everything else will fall into place. We will have a coaching staff, one way or the other, for the long term. And we will know that any trades or free agent signings will be done for the long term good of the team, not just to make it a better sell. I am hoping that any day now a formal bid will be announced, the team will be sold, and Red McCombs will fly back to Texas, never to return again.

Before all of these trade rumors happened I was just excited about red selling and the vikes getting a LB in FA. Why are we trying to get a LB in a trade? we could easily be the highest bidder for Julian Peterson AND keep moss.

Where did u get this information... he was franchised last year and just took a one year contract... what makes you think that he will sign with a team that has no chance to win for quite a while, especially when he is one of their very few good players. They need a complete overhaul on offense starting with the skill positions except rb. right now i think their best player besides rb is newberry at C.Peterson is staying in SF, with their new D coordinater he said that he wants to build D around him and plus julian said he wants to stay in SF.
