    we got him

I would live to get Johnny Football more than any player I ever remember but we are not going to be in a position to get him now.

Boy did we. No way in heck you run that draft again and that cat falls to us. WOW. I bet ole Ricky boy and company were just chomping at the bit as that one unfolded. I know I was from about the 11th pick on. Shortly after that I started watching Rhodes and was thinking to myself "Self" we are going to get the both of them and not have to move but its gonna screw us on Patterson.....

WOW. is all I can say.

Not sure what your talking about. I surely did. Just because I felt that Ricky boy was gonna go with Teo and Patterson didn't mean I didn't want one.

I always want one my friend. Always.

In the end, trying to guess what they are going to do and what I want them to do are two separate things. In this case, they did exactly what I wanted them to do (DT, CB, WR) just didn't get my MLB and truth be told, other than Minter, I'm not sure any of these cats would have come in and helped this year.

I'm thinking Dansby as well. Have been for several weeks after I went through the rookie pool. Urpacker can just stay at home.

Didn't think the need for a DT was ahead of the MLB, but when a DT that was projected to be the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft falls in your lap at the 23rd pick, no way in hell can you pass on that.
I think you can say that for Rhodes as well. I had him as high as 1-9 to the Jets in my final. I'm sure that with those two on the board the whole game plan went out the window.

The last minute trade for Patterson kindof bares that out. They obviously had one of the two (23/25) tagged for him.

Hmm... okay. Even so, it's essentially the same value. (and that's not taking into consideration that most think Cordarrelle was worth a much higher pick)

I think the compensation was fair...

    1-29 = 640 pts
    2-52 = 380
    3-83 = 175
    4-102 = 92
    Total = 647

Seventh rounder probably wasn't needed. About right though.

Kid was "on most boards" the top WR in this class. If nothing else he brings a pretty damn good returner to the team that has loads and loads up upside wrt running the routes when he learns them.

Yea, a team that gets into the playoffs 2 years in a row probably doesn't really need a QB anyway.

Probably didn't need to give up the 7th but I agree, we basically drafted 3 players that at some point were projected as 1rst or second in their respective positions and all three of them are perfect fits for the schemes we run even though Patterson will have to learn the route tree a bit better.
