The way of the NFL today
I really think that parity has made the NFL a true crap shoot nowadays.
Remember the 80's and 90's? There was always a team...the Bears, the 49ers, the Cowboys, the Packers, then the Rams. Someone was always just head-and-shoulders above everyone else. It was kind of nice...you had someone to root against, in a way, because they were so good.
This postseason, there's NO clear-cut champ. In any and every game, teams play good enough to win and make enough mistakes to lose. Every coach that gets conservative loses. And the coach that doesn't just has to hope for that lucky bounce at the end of the game.
It's interesting to watch, but somehow, I find myself missing that powerhouse team to root against.Have you ever seen a race of turtles, and they all go the wrong way instead of towards the finish line?
Welcome to the NFC North.
