Bobby Wade has been running with the Vikings' second team in practice this week, but the team's leading receiver last season said he hasn't given up on keeping his starting job.

Somehow cheering for Bobby Wade makes me feel kind of dirty.

My guess, in 2 WR sets you will see alot of BB and Rice.
3 WR sets will be BB, Rice and B-wade.
If the defense is doing something funky then I would imagine BB, Rice and Ferg/Allison for a little bit bigger/stronger target.
Maybe its just me but I really see alot of versatility with respect to what our coaches can run out there with certain positions, i.e. WR, DE, DL, TE/FB's, CB/S's etc.
If it all clicks, this team will not only be hard to game plan against (on both sides of the ball), but should be damn fun to watch. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Wade won't concede his starting job
The problem with these packages is that there isn't enough of a distiguishment in talent level between our WRs. Yes our receives do different things but a tthis point they aren't elite WR is the types of roles they run. Opposing deffences will look at Wade and cover him similar to the way they cover Rice. They simply have to account for Rice's size and jumping ability. It's not like they will be running around not knowing how to cover these guys. It's at this pointit's not that difficult.

Then again, Wade needs to remember that he WAS competing against Troy Williamson last season....Berrian is gonna put up a bit more competition.
But keep on fighting, Bobby...there will be more than enough balls thrown for you to get your share.
Nothing wrong with depth at a position that was a weak spot last season for the Vikes.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Re: Wade won't concede his starting job
To me "slot receiver" and "starting receiver" are not the same things.
