Loved this bit!
Favre torched Walker for skipping the Green Bay Packers' 2005 minicamp.

Walker is one those Packer offensive players who built a name playing with Favre and turned it into a decent contract at another team. Unfortunately most of those who did so left Green Bay to disappear into mediocrity, once again proving that Favre's magic is due to his selfless approach of using all his available offensive weapons.Has Walker done anything in the past few years? Id rather see Payne get more reps.
I agree that I'd like to see Payne get more reps. But I have no problem with bringing in a (hopefully healthy) receiver who has already proven he can work with Favre. If he could turn in another 1,400 yard year like he did with the Packers, that would bring us one step closer to Dallas.

And you have got to be crazy even saying any numbers over 1000. He will be lucky to have 500We're bringing purple back.

Re:Vikings will work out WR Javon Walker
Super....."Minnesota Packers" indeed.
Ah well...whatever. ***IF*** Walker can manage to produce some decent numbers behind (1)Rice, (2)Harvin, (3)Berrian, and (4)Insert Name Here, then more power to him, I guess. One thing I know I DON'T want to see, is Walker usurping anyone in the 1, 2, or 3 spot unless it's completely unavoidable...we don't need any more freakin' drama than what we already have.
Mar said it best..."Career Killer Raiders". Just because Walker wasn't productive in Oakland, it doesn't mean he can't still contribute. If he manages somewhere around 30-40 catches, 400-500 yards, and 5 or 6 TDs, then everyone should be happy.

If he is the No. 4 and puts up 500 yards and 6 TDs then we are SMOKING people.
Hope that is the case

Re:Vikings will work out WR Javon Walker
30-40 catches = avg. 2-3 catches/game
400-500 yds = avg. 26-27 yds/game
5-6 TDs = avg. 1 TD every 3rd game (thereabouts)
Really? Doesn't sound all that spectacular to me...esp. considering the current status of our #1 AND #2 WRs. Add to that, he's got familiarity with Favre, Bevell, and the West Coast Offense.
Those numbers might be a little high, but I don't think they're outside the realm of possibility.

Re:Vikings will work out WR Javon Walker
With the recent news about Sidney Rice and his hip surgery, I have to wonder if they had more than an inkling they'd need to bring someone in. Let's hope Walker can contribute enough so that there's not too much of a drop-off.
I gotta say, though, I'm not too happy right now. I'm not quite at the "sky is falling" point, but it ain't exactly a bright sunny day, either.
