Call it "Rebuilding" or not, there are a whole lot of new players/schemes etc on this team.
It takes time to "create a new environment."
But, IMHO it looks like they're on the right path so far.
I agree with everything you say, except the "on the right path" part.
The jury's out IMO on that one.

However, he has a five year contract, and I believe that, unless this year is a disaster - and I think we'll go 5-11, so that doesn't count as a "disaster" - then he will have one more year.

But another 6-10 season next year, and BC will be shown the door.
    ??? I think you're contradicting yourself. A 5-11 record doesn't constitute a disaster & he'll be given 1 more year, yet if it's 6-10, he'll be shown the door?
    :-\
I think he meant this year 5-11, and if we go 6-10 in 2008, Chilly is out the door.

Doesn't matter though, we're winning the Super Bowl this year.

Thanx for the correction. I read it wrong.

Super Bowl this year? How thick are those purple shades?

    Bahahahaha....

But how are you going to see BC hoist up the Lombardy trophy this year if you are in total darkness?

Maybe I'm the one in total darkness.

Re: Vikings will ship out Childress if QB fails

The title of the article is nothing original, people have been inferring that since the Vikings picked him up....especially since the BJ time-buying experiment failed.
Denny Green had a new QB damn near every year that he coached the Vikings and he did ok.
I don't put too much merit in one position, this is a team game last time I checked.
Tarvaris working out or not working out will not dictate how long Childress stays in Minnesota, it will be one of many factors.

Childress had at least this and next year.If he does bad this year i think he will still be around.Considering we play 7 playoff teams from last year.Next year thought i think we will pick up a right tackle or guard with our first pick and maybe a wr (if our current corps doesnt turn out) and thats a big if cuz i think our recievers can be pretty good this year.

Re: Vikings will ship out Childress if QB fails

I am, as most of you know, a huge supporter of Coach Childress.
I honestly believe we will have a winning record this year (9+ wins).
    But...

Even I have to admit that if we have another losing record, he faces a strong possibility of being released.
If for no other reason, then to appease the fan base.
If the Vikings don't maintain a winning record, the already poor ticket sales will continue to drop.
And the odds of the stadium being built get smaller and smaller.
Wilf is a business man, and he knows when to cut his losses.
Firing the HC and bringing in a new, more dynamic personality (who would probably have a similar approach to building the team) could do a lot to excite the fan base again.

But like I said, it is a moot point, because I truely believe we will finish with 9+ wins.
And I have already taken off my offseason purple glasses... so it isn't just the optimist in me speaking. ;D

I say leave'em on, isn't that why we're here anyways?
