http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=2654

Good. Don't need our fragile QBs being nervous.

Titans at Steelers will kickoff 2009 season as NFL honors AFL

National Football League

The NFL announced its 2009 Kickoff Weekend primetime television schedule -- including a Monday night "AFL 50th" doubleheader -- and the Thanksgiving Day national TV tripleheader.

The Sunday night primetime game (8:30 p.m. ET) on NBC will feature a division matchup as the Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears. Green Bay and Chicago have won seven of the past eight NFC North titles.
thats a primetime matchup??
well that bodes well for the scheduling for this year

I love reading the idiot comments on there. There are like five comments about how we play the Steelers opening week and are not on TV?
These idiots can't tell that we are not playing the Steelers opening week and that was the whole point of the article.
Anyways ... I am glad we are not on prime time opening week ... stay away from the lights until we find our mojo.

Re: Vikings will NOT open the 2009 season wiht a prime time game

Good deal.. Our team wasn't ready to go into a primetime game last season

D was good.. Not playing how it shoulda been.. No sacks or turnovers I believe? Didn't expect much more out of the season opener.. But still had much to improve on

STs sucked

WRs were not playing well

Jackson didn't play well

AP and the D were the bright spots of course.. The team as a whole couldn't get it done in the spot light.. Whether that was because of it being a rival primetime game is beyond me.. But we can save those for later on anyway

How do the Packers start at home every year?
What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Why the hell would they feature the Packers and Raiders that much?

Only reason I can think the Packers would play first week in primetime is because the Pack and Bears are a HUGE rivalry
