Thread: Vikings want a soccer team

Well yeah, I mean hopefully it does well, but history has not been kind to Soccer leagues and it seems they would be better suited to a smaller venue like TCF where they wouldn't have to tarp off 75 percent of the seats for the thing to look full.

Think the Wilfs are looking forward hoping to make history, rather than back at history.

Good. Because when they look back at their history of hiring Childress, Frazier and Company they might want to forget all about history lol.

Not a soccer fan, but I really like the idea. It's good for the Minnesota economy, and could motivate Wilf to spend the bucks to make a retractable roof, even the state could contribute a little more to lure a soccer team, and get more use out of the new stadium.

As mentioned here ... this only works with an open air stadium. I think they could continue pursuing the team, but might want to consider playing at TCF.

The MLS would ok a franchise in MN if the new stadium has a retractable roof, only regulations regarding stadia is that they must not be indoors/domed.
