Thanks for the read my friend.

    Make Favre play like Favre-
I think it would have read better if they would have said........

Make Favre play like Favre of old.

Even I admit that the Chiller has the ole Gunslinger harnessed and locked away.
Now if they do exploit our secondary to the point we are behind, that gunslinger will have to come out.

Not sure about all of you, but that is something I don't want to see happen.

Pretty amatuerish... I wouldn't consider our LBs middle of the pack and I definitely wouldn't consider them easy to run on.
Our weakness has been when teams run to the edges against our CBs and Safeties... not up the middle to the strength of our middle LB.

As always, if you can get your QB time, run the ball, and force turn overs, you're going to win the game... isn't that the recipe for winning all games in the NFL?
Or at the very least, the plan?

"Stop Jared Allen- Allen has been one of the most dominant defenders in the NFL this year.
While Max Starks has had a better season than some expected, he is still much slower than Allen off the ball.
In order to keep Big Ben from getting killed, I would put either Ramon Foster or Tony Hills at tackle eligible next to Starks.
This would put two tackles on Allen, and that should prevent him from getting to Ben."

Just what the other three have been waiting for. Who is this guy. Block Allen by all means what do you do with Kevin Williams?

He does have a point with the TE situation though and I hope Chilly tore the D a new one for the 4th quarter last week. I also wonder how many games will be "the first real test of the season for the Vikings"?

The steelers are a godd team but they are missing Polamalu something awful and Ben breaks down when he is pressured.

Big game for the D line in this one

With all the 6 to 8 second looks that Big Ben has been getting during passing plays lately, I think this is going to bite him and the Steelers Offense in the Ass this week. No way in hell he gets that kind of time with our pass rush.
I think it's going to throw him way off.

I hear ya my friend, but I am looking at it from another aspect......

We have continued to increase our LB'rs participation in the packages to get pressure on the QB, failing in most instances which kindof takes away from our pass defensive scheme.

Again, I believe our problem can be directly traced back to the handover of the recievers between zones.
Looks to me like the indicision on what to do is mostly related to when a TE and a WR need to be handed over.
Typically a LB gets involved and helps.

If said LB is blitzing, now the S and CB need to make a decision on who takes who.
Do I hand my guy over or do I stick with him.
Do I take the guy from the CB or do I take the TE, kindof thought process.

If our blitz packages continue to fail and Big Ben has time we are gonna see some huge gains.
I for one hope ole Leslie, the DLine Coach, the LB coach and the S Coach are burning the midnight oil figuring out how to fix this percieved problem.

    Steeler fan here.
Let me give you a little scouting report.
First, the OL is greatly improved.
While they have still allowed 15 sacks in six games, I'd credit at least half of those to Ben for holding the ball and refusing to throw it away.
    Maybe 10.
But for every sack he takes, he makes twice as many plays downfield.
As Steeler fans, we take the bad with the good.
He might be the best in the game at moving defenders with the pump fake.

Rashard Mendenhall has taken over as the #1 back.
He's not only a better runner than Parker, he's a better blocker and receiver, too.

Parker has gone the way of Wally Pipp.

Still, I don't see the Steelers trying to force the run too much on Sunday.
They've turned into a "pass to open up the run" team and Ben is on pace for his best season.

The defense has played well through three quarters, but not in the 4th.
They shut out the Browns in the 4th, but that's not saying much.
Having Polamalu back should help, but losing Aaron Smith will not.
They are trying to replace him by committee, and looked OK this past week, but again it was Cleveland.

The key to beating the Steelers defense is patience.
Take the underneath stuff they give you and move down the field.
They don't give up a lot of big plays, but are susceptible to the short game.

    Should be a great game.
    Love these kinds of matchups.
