In professional sports, it doesn't get more cliché than crediting a team for responding to adversity.....

Vikings coach Brad Childress has figured out the ABC and D of getting a successful performance from quarterback Tarvaris Jackson.....

    Very nice read my friend.

Seems I posted something along this line just a second ago.
Damn, I am starting to think like these idiots or are they getting smarter?
    ;D

"I think he had a couple of deep looks up the football field, but had the wisdom to bring it down and say, 'I'm not just going to throw it deep because they called it deep.' Which is what we want him to do," Childress said. "This is just going to be an evolution. There are going to be steps forward, steps backward, just like down on the goal line."

Jackson will need more of those forward steps over the final six regular-season games. His play from here on out will help determine his future with the Vikings, and maybe Childress', too.

Childress talks about developing Jackson by letting him play. At some point, a decision will have to be made whether the Vikings can hitch themselves to Jackson long term and expect to win. Jackson doesn't have to be the franchise's best player. Adrian Peterson can be that. But, as the quarterback, he better be one of the top three players.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

No one has to tell that to Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway, who did a number of good things in Sunday's 29-22 win over Oakland but still was in danger of being fitted for goat horns near the end....
    On the job training.
I am sure he won't ever make that mistake again.
    ;D

He was awesome on that last drive. A couple of very nice plays.

After the Vikings 29-22 win over Oakland, coach Brad Childress was pleased with how Tarvaris Jackson and Chester Taylor performed, and both players said they're happy to be back in the game....
I like to listen to these things.
    Great stuff.

Just read in the STrib that Greenway didn't have a single fumble recovery in 4 years with Iowa, but he leads the Vikings with 4 this season.
Good nose for the ball - good run-stopper, he's making progress.
I can still see him struggling in coverage, but that stuff takes time to learn.

I actually thought he had more than two bad plays (Int/Fumble).
He made a couple of bad throws as well, however, even the great Lord Farvreeee and Brady made a couple of bad ones during thier games yesterday as well.
