Re: Vikings vs. Packers pre-game articles & predictions
I really think they're going to win this game. Tarvaris starting at quarterback should give a much needed spark to a team that otherwise has been playing pretty flat these past few weeks. It bothers me to think how much better this already good defense could be playing right now if they were actually able to get a few more than 3 downs of offensive possession to rest. I'm sick of all the 3-and-outs. Let's see what the kid can do.

I think this should be referred to as the biggest horse up the *** flukea "miracle"
fluke, fluky, flukey, iffy (subject to accident or chance or change) "a chancy appeal at best"; "getting that job was definitely fluky"; "a fluky Packer win"; "an iffy proposition"Favre said. “He made a play. I don't even know if you can call it a play. That was remarkable, unbelievable.â€
Looking for Brett to knock off a few of his now famous 4 qtr picks

Griffin out?
Starting right cornerback Cedric Griffin missed a second consecutive practice because of a neck stinger and is listed as doubtful (25 percent chance of playing) for Thursday's game at Green Bay. Griffin has been bothered by the injury since the Nov. 19 game at Miami and saw a specialist Monday. "Hopefully it'll come along and I'll be just fine," Griffin said. "It's hard not to think about it. It is a very painful thing."
If Griffin sits out, he likely would be replaced by veteran Fred Smoot.
Etc.
• Travis Taylor, the Vikings' leading receiver, is listed as questionable (50 percent chance of playing) for Thursday because of a sprained ankle. Coach Brad Childress said Taylor did not practice Monday and he missed at least a portion of team drills Tuesday.
• Defensive tackle Spencer Johnson was placed on injured reserve because of a high left ankle sprain. Rookie receiver Martin Nance was promoted from the practice squad to take Johnson's roster spot and offensive lineman Jimmy Martin was re-signed to the practice squad.
• Want to know the Vikings' easiest route to the playoffs? It goes like this: Minnesota wins both its remaining games to finish 8-8 and the Giants, Falcons and 49ers each lose one more game.
