Re: Vikings vs. Falcons - Pre-game articles

We must win all our home games, and it starts with Atlanta. They will be fired up and without Vick may play very hard. We have to withstand the first couple volley's they make and then stuff them out with our defense and ball control offense.

This is the kind of game we have historically lost. On paper we should win, they are coming off a controversial offseason and they have a journeyman QB who has floundered in the past. We NEED to win this game and can in no way take them lightly or they will take us to the cleaners.

They will come out very emotional and we need to match that intensity and shut them down with our defense. Then we need to get to the 20 on offense and figure out how to put it in the endzone for 6.
Exactly the way I see it too.Good teams don't lose the games they are supposed to win.

We need to get on top early and not allow them any reason to gain confidence.

They are a pretty good team with a lot of weapons and a good defense. And Joey Harrington is no worse than Rex Grossman.

So I don't take this game lightly. If we get behind early, it could be a long day.
What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Hey Ben Leber said thats what the defense #1 goal is this year, to win all our home games; if he said it, it must be true! ;D

For as long as he can remember, Marcus McCauley's father has been a fixture on the sidelines and in the stands.

Good story Cogs, but this deserves it's own thread rather than being in the Vikings-Falcons pre-game thread.

I think you might be correct. I guess I were a little too fast there with loading the articles into this thread
