Re: Vikings vs. Eagles Score Predictions
There are far too many variables here for me to predict a single score.
Turnovers, for one.
The problem is that we don't know which team is going to show up.
Will we see the Eagles who trounced Dallas 44-6, or will we see the Eagles who managed only 3 points against Washington?
Will we see the Vikings who thoroughly thrashed Arizona and held their passing attack in check, or will we see the Vikings who fumbled the game away against Atlanta?
Believe it or not, the Vikings have fared pretty well against some pass-happy teams this year.
Besides the Cards, they had a respectable showing in the loss against Indianapolis (granted, many of their players were hurt - but they still had the same QB and ideology).
Then again, they could very well get burned.
Again, it depends on whether or not we show up to play.
Much of this depends on the intangibles.
Can T-Jack handle the pressure of his first playoff game?
Will the Vikings be distracted by the whole ticket issue?
Will they be content to simply stand pat as division champs, or are they hungry for more?
I'm hoping the coaching staff will be preparing the T-Jack (and the team) for this game, and they will be ready, focused, and wanting to win.
If not, this could get ugly.
Bottom line: the Vikings need to win the battle in the trenches if they want to win this game.
We need to pressure McNabb and his receivers with tight coverage, solid play from our front four and some blitzes thrown in.
If Jared Allen gets a sack, we'll definitely be in this game.
If he gets two or more, we'll definitely win.
On the offensive end, it's the same deal.
We need to protect Jackson from the variety of blitzes he's sure to be facing.
We can do this by throwing short passes, using motion to prevent jams at the line, and throwing it to our tight end.
We can also take pressure off Jackson by running the ball well.
There are only so many ways you can show eight men in the box - it's hard to disguise that, which makes it easier to read.
Ideally, we'll have T-Jack throwing the ball less than 20 times.
Our running game is our bread and butter - as our running game goes, so goes our team.
Also, we can't turn the ball over.
Peterson needs to hang onto the ball, and Jackson needs to avoid throwing interceptions.
However, there may be a benefit to his recent fumbling.
The Eagles defense may be too focused on stripping the ball out and not enough on tackling.
As a result, they MIGHT (emphasis on MIGHT) get overaggressive and sloppy.
If they do this, and Peterson still holds onto the ball, he'll be able to exploit it.
However, I wouldn't count on it.
If the Vikings do all these things, they'll win by about a touchdown.
If they don't, they'll lose by at least 13 points.

Past play off history is meaningless.. it's a new team now.
But I still feel like TJ is gonna puke up a loss against this D.

Re: Vikings vs. Eagles Score Predictions
Not sure which Eagles team shows up tomorrow. I'm much more concerned about the Eagles' unpredictability and their penchant for whipping us in playoffs past than I am about other NFC playoff teams.
I say forget AD and TJack this week... Tomorrow comes down to Jared Allen vs. Donovan McNabb.
Oh, and Longwell puts up again in the last seconds, 23-21 Vikes.

Re: Vikings vs. Eagles Score Predictions
lets remember here that the only team the vikings lost to by more then a touchdown was the titans...and as far as i remember we were down by six in the last few minutes, frerrotte just threw an int in the deciding moments of the game.
tarvaris has thrown for over 200 yds every game he's been back. visante is stepping up. as long as adrian doesn't fumble and our o line can protect fairly well im giving this one to the vikings. as for D McNabb and Westbrook? We've seen them before (last year if you didn't know), they did win that game BUT i believe it was only by a td. Iggles are overhyped, they beat the cowboys 44-6 becuase they frankly had no clue what they were doing. Eagles are 22nd in rush offense and 6th in pass offense. I'm sure if we locate westbrook and winfield can hold it down against d jackson and curtis is kept down by c griffin we got this one in the bag.
