Urlacher isn't what he used to be, but I still think it would be pretty hard to take him totally out of the game. He's still gonna get his tackles. You could definately minimize any big plays from him tho.

He single handily beat us one game last year.

He was hurt, he comes back for our game, and then is hurt the rest of the year.

He was all over the field, like a man possessed. He had tackles up the butt, an interception and sacks.
I remember that. He had missed like three games before that, came back, got like 45 tackles and 18 sacks, and then was out the rest of the damn year. I was just talking to my brother about how he is overatted unless he is playing the Vikes. Glad I was not the only one who noticed this last year.

im surprised noone has touched on this option...

lets take a page out of the patriots book...last year early in the season (i forget the opponent) all the pregame analysts were saying how the pats were gonna give the other team a healthy dose of the running game...on their first possesion they came out 5 wide and used the no huddle offense to perfection and marched straight down the field for a TD...

i think this could help us alot because most teams script thier first 15-25 plays to feel out what the D is gonna do in certain formations...and i know our O-line is having trouble but if we keep pulling in more and more blockers the other teams D is just gonna keep jamming our 2 WRs and playing in that 10 yard box that has been a reacurring theme this year...and tell me...how has that worked out for us so far...

another good thing with the 5 WR formation right off the bat...you know darn well the bears are gonna game plan the screens and alll the shorter passing routes weve been doin all year long...i doubt they will game plan for 5 WR and a no huddle offense on our first possesion, and this game plan would catch ol' lovie and crew off guard big time...

i would just like to see a lil change up with the offense instead of us turning into the bears offense of 2 years ago under john schoop (spelling)
where they wouldnt throw the ball more then 7 yards at a time...

    peace....

I agree with SWAZ, we gotta shake things up and score early, stop the run, and no turnovers.... beating bears in Chi-town isn't going to be the easiest, but if we keep ortin from looking like montana, and stop the run, this could be a road Division Victory we need desperatly.

to (think that we'll) win is to believe in the coaching staff and Culp... both of which i do not hold in high regard right now.--however, i am not playing. chicago lives for their home game against us and lovie smith is a better coach. we are in for a rough one and the only thing that will let us win is the fact that Orton will likely make a bunch of mistakes and hopefully our beat up defense will capitalize on it.

We need to get the first points then I think we will be alright.. But if we fall behind early.. Even 7-0 I don't like our chances.. We seem to lose it after they score first.. And we suck at Soldier field.. I think we have to stack people at the line and STOP THAT RUN! Make Orton try to win the game.. Our 3 corners can stop thier pathetic WR's (besides Moose) 1 on 1.. I think Winny can pretty much shut him down though so if we make Orton pass we should take this one

I agree with most of what you are saying, I have had enough of the conservative offense we have been using!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spread the field, make them react to us not the other way around. We did that in the first game against Tampa, we tried to play smash mouth football and we got smacked in the mouth.

I do not know about going to a 5 WR set, but do go to a 4 WR often! Go to a 3 WR set with 1 TE and no more 3 TE sets with 1WR. How easy to defend!

We do not have the line to push teams around right now so why are we trying. Make them respect the pass and put in some timing routes to beat the blitz (you know it's coming). Make them regret doing it and make them get to the point were they are only sending the 4 down lineman.

Play to win and don't play to lose!

The same thing on the defense side of the ball!

Be aggressive and blitz 2 guys on every down, no more soft f*cking zones. Play man to man and let our corners play on the line, bump the hell out of the receivers and make them hear foot-steps. Be aggressive, I would rather lose that way than play like pussies and still get beat!!
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
