In the buildup to the 2008 season, the Vikings were projected to have an offensive line good enough to clear the way for a deep playoff run....

Re: Vikings' vaunted offensive line trying to plug a leak
You would hope they have already "rounded into form", these guys have playing with each other for awhile now, last year was a full season with no injuries and likewise this season aside from the McKinnie situation. Herrera might be my biggest disapointement out of the bunch. They really need to turn it on for us to finish strong but that can be said about every unit we put on the field. The inconsistencies and ups and downs of this team is nearly unmatched, when one unit seems to find a grove the other defaults. We have been unable to put consistent games together in all phases.

Re: Vikings' vaunted offensive line trying to plug a leak
Well it's midseason and about time someone addressed the O-line inconsistency. Those 5 guys need to step up a notch, as does the whole team if we are going to climb out of this mediocre BS. Play up to your abilities and we can go on a run. It's time to show up ready and fired up.
I don't know if any of you watched that Texas/ Texas Tech game, especialy after that Gopher heartbreak, but Tech sure has a NFL caliber line, big mofo's allowing 5-6-7 seconds in the pocket.
Thanks for the news fodder singerSP.

I'm not sure how they will ever plug the leak but if I know them like I think I do my guess is that McKinney has been putting his finger in every dyke he can to see if things get better.

Want to fix the Oline? I'll help.
1) Bring back the double tight Single back.
2) Move Hicks to the RT position. Get Cook ready to take Birk's place

Really I think that the line reflects the old saying " Too many Cooks spoil the Broth". If we would eliminate one Cook the line would instantly get better.

I don't think Cook has really settled in to the tackle position.
I agree to the move of HIcks and having Cook be Birk's backup.
