New stadiums are clearly a key factor in Forbes magazine's annual rating of the value for NFL teams.

The Indianapolis Colts, who opened Lucas Oil Field this year, jumped from 21st to eighth in Forbes' ranking with a value of $1.076 billion.

The most valuable franchise is still the Dallas Cowboys, who move into a new stadium next year, at $1.612 billion. The Washington Redskins are second at $1.538 billion and the New England Patriots third at $1.324 billion.

The Vikings, with no stadium deal on the horizon, were again rated last among the 32 teams, with a value of $839 million.

Funny how this doesn't translate into playoff wins. I mean, the Giants don't even have their own "house", they share it with the Jets in New Jersey, right ?

Meanwhile, Washington, Arizona, Detroit, etc. etc have new stadiums and they still blow.

I personally don't think that there is a direct relationship between "team value" and wins, particularly since the NFL is run not as a free market system, but as socialism, with salary caps and revenue sharing. I could open an NFL team, and if the league approved it, I could go 0-16 every year and still grab 1/32 of the TV revenues.

With that said, I agree with StillPurple...there is little correlation between team wins and revenue generation.
Not really a surprise though.
