    Vikings vacation.Advice please

I am buying 2 tickets for the Vikings vs packers,Section 109,Row 1. The tickets do not include parking or anything.

Where can I buy parking passes?

Anyone have any advice for my first trip to the Metrodome?

I would park in the parking structures nearby and walk to the tailgate sections and drink a few with PP.O. I usually pay $10 to park.

    Awesome!
Great game to go to for your first trip to the dome.

First, don't worry about parking passes.
On game day there are tons of parking lots and ramps that are open.
Park in one of them ($10 to $20) and walk a couple blocks to the PP.O tailgate spots.
Last year we had five spots in Purple Lot 1.
This year we are making plans to purchase some more, although I do't know if we will do as many.

The tailgate is a great time, and we have a couple of grills set up to use.
You can bring some drinks, and there is also usually some GBP floating around, and I bring jello shots to share.

Are you coming in from out of town?

I drive in from North Dakota for the games.
I actually prefer to stay down at the Mall of America, and then take the light rail into the city.
We usually go to the MOA on Saturday, spend the night, and then light rail into the city and out on Sunday.
That way we never have to fight game day traffic.
My hotel of choice is the Country Inn and Suites - Bloomington.
It is right across the street from the Mall, and is a nice hotel for the price.

There are others who prefer to stay down town, I will let them chime in on their hotel preferences.

Have you purchased the tickets yet? I like to sit in sec. 109 for some games. Row one will put you right behind the bench and you will get close to the players but may not be able to see over them for some plays. I like to be 15 or more rows up so I can see over them and still see the players and coaches well.

I come in from Nebraska and have stayed at the hotel Nodak recommends and found it very good. Riding the light rail (train) in to the game is very convienient but is quite crowded unless you go a little early.

The downtown hotel I was at last year was the Best western Normandy( see link at bottom). It was older but adequate. Parking was cheap. About 8 blocks from the dome. I did have drunks next door keep me awake until 3 a.m.. But that can happen at any hotel.

The parking by the dome gets more expensive as you get closer but you should never have to pay more than $20 if you drive.

Come early stay late and tailgate with us. See you there.

No,I have not purchased the tickets yet.
The seller is asking $700 for the pair,I am offering $600
I think we will meet somewhere.
I was wanting row 1 to have plenty of knee room.
Do the other rows have plenty of knee room?

I'm a pretty big guy, in all areas LOL ,
but I was rather comfortable in my seat when I went to the dome and there was seats in front of me.

You've recieved alot of good info so far, I'de just like to suggest, I think someone in your case would enjoy staying out of the city and more near the nearby Mall of America.
It's a great mall to visit and lots of nice shops and things to do there.
Vikings Locker Room is a nice Vikings Fan store in the mall.
    Check it out....
If I remember right, I stayed in a motel 8,
close to the mall and not a far drive at all to the stadium....

    Enjoy your visit..

I got nothing on hotels and such since I live close.

But I generally park on the street, about 5 blocks from the Dome (planning for my post-game exit).
Eight bucks in quarters does the trick.

Your plan should include stopping by the PPO tailgate, of course.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!
