GET IT DONE ! I could see holding out on the stadium when Red was here, but now it is to the point of build it or Vikes be gone, seriously. 2011 is right around the corner.

Stupid Carl Pohlad is the richest owner in baseball, the old man needs to stop being so cheap, and get his head out of Selig's butt

I honestly have a tough time believeing that the Twins are a bigger draw than the Vikes. Truely. It looks like the Dome is completely empty, just like the Devil Rays are down here in Tampa, when I see them on TV.

So, every time I hear the Twinkies are ahead of the Vikings for a stadium ... it tee's me off.

The only time a baseball stadium is full is opening day, and the playoffs, the stike in 94 stopped alot of the everyday sellouts

    Great Quote:
St. Peter acknowledged that no such neighborhood boom followed the Metrodome’s arrival in the early 1980s.

“But that was just poor planning,” he said. “They built it next to a hospital, a jail and a newspaper!”

I'd have to believe the Twinkies are ahead simply because they've been working on the deal longer. Prior to Zygi taking over last year, the only rumblings for a new stadium were the pathetic whinings of Dead Red asking for $$$ like the kid in "Oliver":

"Please sir, may I have some more?"

    Not true.

    http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20051003&content_id=1236174& vkey=pr_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

    Some things from that article:
    1. 30,970 average fans per game in 2005. In 1993, the last year before the strike, the average was 30,977 fans. And '93 includes the Colorado Rockies setting the all-time attendance record of 55,350/game playing at Mile High.

    2. The Twinkies topped 2 million fans for the first time since 1993.

The stadiums are smaller and there are more games - but there are lots of places where it's tough to get tickets. You can't judge based on what happens in Tampa or Miami.
